on 8/11/2009 Hi. We have two leather sofas that have a built up residue of hair wax/gel on the backs where our heads rest!! Yuk! I have tried specialist leather cleaners and the 'Dove' suggestion above but neither will shift it. Any tips? The In Laws are coming to stay and I'd like it gone.....
Cheers,

on 8/11/2008 Dear Parakeet, Sorry I didn't read your post sooner butjust in case....here is a website for a company that makes an incredible product: www.DooDooVoodoo.com This stuff works absolute miracles ( I know I have cats!) for pet odors and stains. It works for ALL kinds of odors and stains of the worse kind but especially well for animals. They have an extensive FAQ section that should cover any questions you might have so be sure to check them out- I promise, you will NOT be disappointed! Good Luck, Juls.

on 8/3/2008 Does anybody know how to get a really really REALLY bad dog poop stain out of an animal hide with leather attched to the back? I really need help before August 8th. I ma babysitting dogs for someone, and they paid me VERY VERY generously. They escaped their pen, and I came in late, and they pooped THREE TIMES on the rug. I am so worried I won't get it out in time for them to come back. Please help!

on 7/16/2008 • Many spots and marks on leather can be cleaned off with an ordinary pencil eraser. This is true especially on white leather.
• Many spots can be cleaned with a solution of 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water. This treatment is particularly effective on "sugar" or "alcohol" spots.
• Oil and grease can be cleaned off leather with a spray-on spot remover.
• Rubber cement is another good "oil spot" remover. Put it over the spot and let it dry. Rub it off and the spot is gone. (DO NOT USE THIS TREATMENT ON SUEDE).

I found this at the boot barn site.

on 5/26/2008 Saddle soap and mink oil should definitley not be used on finished leathers as they are far too harsh for todays modern leather finishes.
Conditioning is totally unnecessary on finished leathers you need to use protectors not conditioners.
