on 8/31/2006 Put your hair dryer on a warm setting and heat your eyelash curler for about 5 seconds. Test the temperature on your finger first to make sure it isn't too hot.

on 8/17/2006 Instead of using mascara to make your eyelashes look darker, put some Vaseline on them. Put a little on your fingertip and then rub onto your eyelash. It makes the lashes stay curled and look darker.

on 8/8/2006 Put your curler in hot water for 3 seconds, and use it to curl your lashes as usual. Please take note: feel the temperature with your hand first before you use on your lashes.

on 8/3/2006 After I get out of the shower and dry my face, I curl my eyelashes. Your eyelashes are hair, and they retain water more so than your skin, so dry them off lightly, so they're still a little damp, and then curl them. The curl last overnight!

Just like you wouldn't curl or straighten your hair once it's dry, you shouldn't do that to your eyelashes either.

on 7/27/2006 I found this great eyelash curler at Rite Aid. It is the Ardell Heated Curler that is operated by 2 'AAA' batteries. I bought it on sale for only $2.46! I thought it would be just some cheap piece of junk, but it is the only eyelash curler that works, for me.

How to Use:
1. Insert 2 'AAA' batteries, not included
2. Push and hold the green lever, you will notice a green light go on
3. When the silicon pad turns clear, it is heated
4. Set eyelashes in place for 10-15 seconds, depending on the curl you desire.

After I curl my eyelashes, I usually use Maybelline Intense XXL Volume+Length Microfiber Mascara.

I hope this works for you!

on 6/30/2006 I read about this heated eyelash curler in InStyle magazine, called Hotlashes. It's the best way to curl your eyelashes, it uses a metal curler that just sits in a heater base and it heats the pad in the curler. Once I got this, it was so easy and my little eyelashes actually lifted and stayed curled. Worth the investment.

on 6/30/2006 I too have become a big fan of the Hotlashes heated eyelash curler. The best. So easy, so fast, so effective. I do not have to heat mine with a blow dryer. I do other parts of my makeup while this little machine warms my eyelash curler. The pad is rounded, so I get a nice curl that lasts. My searching is finally over. I am a big eyelash curler junkie, I've tried them all. I tell you; Hotlashes is it.

on 6/30/2006 First, curl the lashes as close to the eyelid as possible; being careful not to pinch the eyelid. Then curl again with the base of the curler in the middle of the lash. Finally, curl the tips and apply your mascara.

This is perfect for daytime, work, etc., because it doesn't make your eyelashes look fake.

on 2/28/2006 This is what works best for me, after many years of trial and error. I have very straight hair, and thus have very straight eyelashes that are hard to keep curled all day.
I curl my eyelashes before I put on any makeup. They fall a little bit and it creates a more natural look. I use a curler with a silicone pad. Don't use one of those white pads that are flat on the top, they don't work very well. Shu Uemura has a good curler, but there are many brands that are much cheaper that do the same job. Just look around when you are in the makeup department. Start by curling at the root for 5 seconds and then pump, gradually going up the lashes at least 4 or five times to create a nice lift and not a straight unnatural look. Then just for about 5 seconds curl the root again.
Second, put on the rest of your makeup including eyeliner (if desired, and I recommend to use eyeliner if your lashes are finer and not really thick). Then use waterproof mascara, preferably the curling kind. It helps to keep the curl all day and won't wipe off if you have watery eyes (like me). I use Max Factor Waterproof Volume and Lift. Coat lashes 2-3 times depending on how dark and thick looking you want them to be.
Thirdly, if there is any clumping, what works best for me is to use your tweezers (using one side of the tweezer) and separate the lashes that way. Go in between and upward through the clumped lashes and they separate quite easily.

on 1/30/2006 I have found by far the best heated eyelash curler, that takes the least amount of time and work, is the Hot Lashes heated eyelash curler. It only takes a few seconds to heat up and when I curled my lashes, the curl lasted till the next day. By far the best I have found.
