My eyebrows needed a lot of help, so I grew them out for a month then made an appointment at a place that shapes them. It cost $20 and I watched the whole time and took notes on what she was doing. Then I went to a drug store to check out the makeup and I found an eye brow kit that has color powder, wax, a brush and small tweezers, and it cost less than $4! It helped so much, and my eyebrows look much better now. -

Do not: Use regular hair dye at home to dye eyebrows and lashes. There are even warnings on the boxes that is may cause blindness. Outline your brows then color in- this results in a hard harsh look only appropriate for an old alcoholic stuck to a barstool at the local ice house. Use colored mascaras on eyebrows- you may think this looks good-from the perspective of others this just looks strange. Do: Try to create a soft but more refined eyebrow shape, style and color. Use a flat tipped eyebrow brush to apply a powder eyebrow color. The selection of the shade of eyebrow is very important, take great care in selecting the best and most appropriate shade for you, this may well be the very most important shade selection in all of your cosmetics to determine the impression you give to others. Be willing to spend more for this one, it is well worth the expense. Choose a slightly more ash shade than your eyebrow shade to fill in the shadows beneath the hairs of your eyebrow. Choose a slightly lighter shade of eyebrow powder than your own eyebrow hair shade to create a flattering frame to your eye. Use light fine brush strokes to imitate the individual fine hairs. Only apply color after the eyebrows themselves have been properly groomed- whether arched, plucked, waxed, or trimmed or all of the above- (no point in putting paint on a ragged house). If you wish to use a grooming gel- you could use: Clear mascara. A bit of either hairspay or hair gel applied with a cotton swab or a special toothbrush reserved just for eyebrow grooming. A bit of waxy Chapstick (very much like mustache wax used for grooming mustaches). -

You can also dye your eyebrows to match your hair (if you dye you hair and your eyebrows are too light). It works with hair dye, but even better to use is special eyebrow and eyelash dye which is available at the chemist. Choose either black or brown depending on the color of your hair. Apply the dye sparingly with a cotton-bud and try to keep it away from your skin (i.e. apply against growth-direction, so the hairs are sticking up and away from skin). Dye on your skin needs to be removed with water immediately. Be careful not to leave it on too long. It is better to wash the dye off too soon and re-apply it a few times than having eyelashes that look too dark! Sometimes it is enough to leave the dye on for only a few seconds. -

To fill in your eyebrows, get a brown eyeliner, it works best with darker hair colors. You can either trace around your eyebrows if they're not in all over, or if in one spot is bald, then just put the eyeliner on it. Then, smudge. If you think it's too dark, keep smudging or wipe it off a little. -

Even if you have black eyebrows, don't use black brow pencils or anything else in the color black, because then you will make the brow look painted on. Use a brown eyebrow pencil. -

As you apply your daytime moisturizer, rub a small amount into your brows. Then brush the hairs up and outward. -

My hair is colored dark, so my brows are practically non-existent. To give the appearance of naturally dark brows, I use an older mascara (so it's not goopy) in black/brown or brown on my brows. Works and looks great! -

I have dark brown hair but my eyebrows are pale. I tried using light, medium and dark brown eyebrow pencils and powders, but they all looked artificial. Then I found a charcoal grey pencil - it looks totally natural! -

Use an eyebrow brush/comb to comb the hair straight up. Use small scissors (ie, mustache triimmers) to trim stray hairs from the top. Then brush brows downward & trim the excess hairs from the bottom. This creates a neater look & makes hair stay in place. -

I apply a little water on my brow brush and dip it into the powder that I use. You can use eye shadow for brow color. I brush light strokes on my brows and the color lasts all day and has a natural finish. This is good when you are in a rush because the color goes on fast. -

It's simple. Take a liner pencil that matches your brow and very lightly outline them. Take your index fingers and smear them in the natural shape of your eyebrows and in an outwardly direction. It gives a nice, natural look to your brows and makes untweezed eyebrows look better. -

For sparse & light brows, darken them by applying a coat of clear mascara. Then using a small eyebrow brush dipped in gray/black/brown (your choice)eye shadow, slowly apply & powder in like you would w/ a pencil for a more natural look. -

I use my chapstick to keep my eyebrows in place. I always have it on me, and as long as you don't use too much, it looks natural and gives great definition. I also use it to keep my cuticles soft. -

Using mascara on eyebrows looks so natural. It's hard to tell you've done anything extra to make them look full. If the tube still has plenty of mascara in it, wipe the wand with a piece of folded paper, so it's almost dry. Then brush through your eyebrows. A practically empty tube is perfect. Then, it's not necessary to prep the wand. -

To keep your eyebrows neat throughout the day, just squeeze a little Aloe Vera gel onto your index finger and apply it to the eyebrows. This works like a charm. -
