on 12/18/2008 hi, 2 weeks ago i had the hemorrhoids op after suffering for 12 years. i know its for the best but the pain is like your going to die! my advice to anyone who's thinking of having op is seek loads of advice from doctors and you MUST follow a strict diet -ie: readybreak,weetabix,tomato soup and loads of water to keep the stools soft is the key for making that pain easier. find a good stool softner and keep to it, i was given fibergel in a pack but for me did'nt help. doctor said if you dont smoke and 80% fit you will recover quicker than the person who doe's. good luck

on 8/8/2006 My husband heard drinking a 8 ounce glass of aloe vera juice will help with heart burn. It did nothing for his heart burn, but it did help his hemorrhoids. The swelling went down and the pain stopped. He still drinks his aloe vera juice every day. He has days where the hemorrhoids flare up and he has to use the over the counter medicines also.
