on 11/22/2005 Spray Original Windex on stained area. Then get a cotton towel moist (not wet) and lay it on the stained area. Then put a warm iron on the towel. Let sit for a few minutes. This works for new or old stains.

on 11/22/2005 Spray Febreeze on the place where the cat has urinated or sprayed on carpet. Also works great for clothes or bedding - wash afterwards. Febreeze neutralizes the odor.

on 11/22/2005 "Nature's Miracle," while not cheap, works on removing the smell, the stain and the possibility of that particular spot being "hit" again. The cleaner is available in most pet supply stores.

on 11/22/2005 I got this idea from a vet on TV. She said cat urine has fat in it. After blotting, soak the area with rubbing alcohol to break down the fat in the urine, then wash with an enzyme cleaner. This really works! AND the cat will not go back to the same spot.

on 11/22/2005 I have a cat and a dog, both of whom are indoors and like to have "accidents." It was so bad that the concrete underneath was stained. I had to tear up the whole carpet around the stain and throw it away

on 11/22/2005 I pour scoopable kitty litter on the urine on the carpet and let it absorb as much as possible. This draws out a lot of the urine. I then use half vinegar and half water to remove the remaining smell.

on 11/22/2005 I used almost every product on the market for cat urine in carpets. Nothing for pets worked. Then I found Bissell Fabric Refresher as a quick fix to get rid of the smell. Also, No-Go! Housebreaking Aid stops cats from re-urinating in the same places.

on 11/22/2005 To neutralize the odor of cat urine or "spray," use Listerine Mouthwash. It can be poured into a spray bottle and applied to the area as needed. You may want to test on a small area of hidden fabric before applying to upholstery.

on 11/22/2005 A large carpeted area near the litter box was soaked in urine. I bought a 2-pound box of Arm & Hammer baking soda and poured it liberally on the spot. I let sit overnight, vacuumed up the next day, then used Carbona pet stain and odor cleaner. It worked.

on 11/22/2005 I used Pet Stop to clean my floors and surfaces of the stains and odors that my cats, dog and ferret left behind. It smelled like a barn until my vet suggested I use this. It worked great! I got it at epetstop.com.

on 11/22/2005 The oil Patchouli. It smells like earth, but apparently it scares wild tom cats away. I kept having a wild tom spray my van as his territory. I dotted the oil outside and in, and no more cats around my van. Works at home, too.
