    We had a Bar-B-Q after our outdoor wedding. We all changed clothes after the ceremony. I work a cotton print skirt, just above the knee and a solid sleeveless top. The colors? The skirt was burgundy with light to dark pink accents; the top was dark pink. It was stylish and functional, never having to worry about getting sauce on my clothes...it would have just blended in!

    Silk? At a barbecue? Last I heard, barbecues are special parties focusing on messy, slippery finger food. Tomato-based sauces that stain, greasy salads, watermelon...the rest of the advice is cute, but leave the expensive un-washables at home!

    It's funny how too many people don't even know how to dress to even go to the clinic, pharmacy, grocery store, department clothing store, theater, restaurants, as well as other places in public. I'm saying one has to dress up, but folks--young, old, and in between need not look like they just rolled out of bed, wear what they usually wear on their sofa or back porch or suntan chair at home either. Neither should 20's, 30's, & 40's gals, or women rather be dressing from the 'misses' section w/ mini shorts w/ their butt cheex hanging out and teeny teens or tweens tops that are so tight that their tats, teets, midriffs, &/or muffin tops are shown off to the world--especially when they're married, going to see the doctor and/or to other reputable places... yet, they're dressed otherwise like they're otherwise going to the beach, having a sleep-over, or going catting or juking at the...

    It's dam comfortable to prefer cotton rather other cloth materials:-)

    Good article! I always go with sundresses or capri's for summer bbq's- always a safe choice.
