on 11/28/2008 This tip was a HUGE help to us (putting up the Christams tree, already aggravated, family drama) & absolutely THE BEST I've ever tried. We've even gone around and gotten old dribs and drabs from years back that we thought were permanent installations on our carpet that the cleaners have NEVER gotten... just a warm iron & an old brown grocery bag! Thank you so much!!

on 11/28/2008 This is a miracle! We were able to remove wax from our carpeting using the iron/brown paper bag method that had been there over two years! I am stunned at how simple it was. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 11/28/08

on 10/19/2008 Absolutely easiest and best remedy ever! After hurricane Ike I had about a 4x4 inch area with about 4 tablespoons of solid wax in my carpet. I tried your remedy and I am still amazed with the results! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

on 4/29/2008 Oh, if this works, it will save me!! Thanks! 5 stars!

on 2/21/2008 I learned this from ironing my brother and my Alter Clothes from church as a kid. I recently cleaned up a HUGE wax spill at my brother n laws house using this method.... His wife thought I was a miracle worker!

on 12/10/2007 If you use and old bath towel on top of the carpet, place an iron on med heat directly on top of the towel and use a blast of steam from your iron it comes out a lot quicker than with no steam. I wasn't using the steam and it was taking for ever. Once I used steam it only took about three minutes.

on 1/9/2007 I had a red candle that the dog's tail got - it splattered all over. I started out with the hair dryer method as I too was phobic about the iron but it was taking forever. I switched to a white towel and the iron - set iron on medium - took about 30 passes ( constantly moving the iron ) but its all gone. My now red towel will go in the trash.

Thank you to the original poster

on 8/22/2006 Get 1 roll of paper towels. Rip off sections of 2 and fold over each other. Get a hot iron and put it on medium. Place paper towels over wax and rub iron over the paper towels.- Do not leave the iron on for more than 5 seconds at a time. The carpet fibers will burn. Make sure wax is completely dry when you do this! Continue ironing your carpet until wax is gone.

on 8/6/2006 Use a blow drier and either an upright vacuum with a hose attachment or a shop vac. Heat up the wax with the blow drier and immediately vacuum up the liquid wax. Alternate between heating and vacuuming until all the wax is gone.
Wait about a half hour and check for missed spots and repeat the process as needed.
