I have a pug and ever since we moved into our current house, my pug is full of fleas. I took her to Petco and spent 42 dollars on having her bathed. It didn't work at all. I have given her a bath in the dawn 3 times and it does kill them but she is still getting them from my yard. I need to know of good not very expensive ways to get the fleas out of my yard. Thank you in advance. -

Thanks for the remedies! I lived in South America for a while as a young man. It sure would have come in handy then. -

Good pointers. I noticed though that you have a little typo in the title of your article - correcting it will help people locate your article and add to your revenue instead of hindering it. Thanks for sharing this info :-) -

oh I have sprayed hairspray even!!!! but funny thing is that did work but expensive...those computer screen dust cleaners that put out freezing air!! it was a miracle. However you need around 10 of those bottles so it can get pricey. I had an infestation this year. Horrible. I sprayed powdered made sure my puppy was brished combed washed weekly it didn't help as the neighbors yard where she playes is loaded with them. -

I have only found a few fleas in my place. The thing is, I don't have any pets that carry fleas! I have two toads, a ball python and a crested gecko, none of which have been affected as far as I can tell. I have been bitten only a few times but I am totally freaked out. I plan to vacuum my place from top to bottom and wash all bedding just in case. I hate to use chemicals, is there an alternative if the fleas are not actuall on a pet? Thanks! -

Put lime, garden lime (not the kind you use in concrete)sprinkle it all over your yard. I bought it at Lowes. We have a rental that was infested with fleas when they moved. Had it sprayed professionally 3 times and we used 33 flea bombs. Finally we got them all, we hope. Today was the last spray. They did not cut the grass and it grew knee high. Fleas all in the yard. We heard about lime and now you can walk all over the yard without fleas getting on your legs. Search for-- lime fleas -- on Google. It worked for us.. -

dawn and water totally worked! i filled a water bottle with luke warm water then added the dawn...maybe about a table spoon, i eyed the amount. i placed my kitten in the tub and sprayed him down and left it on him for about five minutes like suggested (he cryed the whole time, poor baby). i talked to him the whole time telling him we were getting rid of those mean little suckers. i then filled a cup with luke warm water and rinsed him off several times to make sure dawn was completely gone. wrapped the kitten in a lite colored towel...dying fleas burrowed into towel and i also found dead ones too. i proceeded to comb and search my kitten with the flea comb. i did this twice...i found over 40 fleas on the little guy. he is now sleeping next to me 40 fleas light:) i plan on doing this again in a week if i find any more. thanks for the advice everyone and good luck! -

This worked great! So far all I tried was the Dawn soap and water in a dish. I plan on using the rest of your suggestions. Thank you so much. -

cont'd...I rinsed him thoroughly, and he has remained flea free for two days now, despite going outside for his potties and wallowing in the grass. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be helpful to mop my garage floor with the Dawn liquid as well as all the hard inside floors??? -

After reading most of the comments on this thread, I used the solution of the blue Dawn liquid on my young pup and it seems to be working! I have three cats who are inside/outside as well as this young pup I just brought home from the animal shelter. He's a Golden Retriever mix, and probably about 10 weeks old. I followed the vet's advice first and just sprayed him with the Adams spray and then gave him a bath, but the fleas were back the next day. Out of desperation, I bought some Frontline and put it on him, despite concerns that he may be too young for the Frontline. The fleas were back the next morning...covering him! So, that evening, I filled a tub with Dawn liquid and warm water, submersing the pup up to his head, and gently and carefully washing his head also, avoiding his eyes. I kept him in the solution for at least two minutes, though he wasn't happy about it! I then r -
