on 7/4/2009 Be careful with tea tree oil on cats, it can be very toxic to them.

on 6/19/2009 FOR KITTENS/PUPPIES UNDER 6WEEKS &
FOR IMMEDIATLY ELIMANATING FLEAS ON ANY ANIMAL:
Bathe in a dish soap and water bath for 5 minutes
*the soap almost instantly kills fleas and the water drowns the ones that jump off
*I work in a shelter and this has saved me!

on 6/18/2009 THIS ARTICLE GET 5 STRAS FOR ITS MUTIPLE WAYS TO NOT ONLY TREAT BUT PREVENT FLEA INFESTATION ON YOUR PETS AND IN YOUR HOME 5 STAR ARTICLE. ALSO 5 STAR COMMENTS I THOUGHT THE TEA TREE OIL TIP WAS A VERY NON-TOXIC AWESOME WAY TO TREAT FLEAS ALSO I LOVE THE FACT THAT REDROBYN IS PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION TO HOW FLEA MEDICATION IS REACTING TO HER DOG'S SKIN. JUST LIEK PEOPLE, SOME MEDICATIONS WHETHER THEY ARE TOPICAL OR INGESTED DON'T WORK FOR 'EVERYONE' WHO USES THEM. PETS CAN HAVE BAD REACTIONS TO CHEMICAL FLEA TREAMENTS JUST AS A PERSON COULD HAVE WE BOTH HAVE SKIN RIGHT? LOL SO DEFINATELY DON'T CONTINUE TO ADMINSTER SOMETHING THAT WORSENS THE SITUATION!

on 6/17/2009 Good flea tips, thanks.

on 6/9/2009 Our pets vet counter staff always hassle me when i go to buy flea treatments. I get the 2o questions..like are you doing this are you doing that. Drives me nuts. Ive had my dog for 11 years. Anyway, strange how after reading pentakle's comment about frontline, im thinking am i doing more harm to my dog using this product on my dog. Wondering if my dogs rash is from reaction to frontline, not an allergy to flea bites. Are vets of today brainwashed to push the use of these treatments. Does anyone have any info on the dangers..effects of frontline. Very keen to know. Many thanks, new to ehow, love it already.

on 6/6/2009 These are all very good ideas. Here in Okla we are already fighting ticks.Anyone have any ideas on this problem?Ive sprinkled baking soda on the carpet and furniture for fleas,it works but not as well as it should.Salt is another drastic measure for the carpet.Same as the baking soda? Works but not good enough.

on 6/5/2009 Yeah - 'Veterinarians are skeptical of homemade flea remedies such as garlic, vinegar, vitamin C and kelp' as you state here, but y ou want to know why? Because they make a tonne of cash selling pesticides as Flea 'medication' - come on ehow wake up - if you look at the ingredients of the stuff they push you would be horrified - mostly they are full of chemicals that kill many animals! I hate it when marketing becomes 'fact' - i suggest that whoever wrote this useless article do some research, and if you think stuff like Frontline is safe then put it on your own neck and see what happens.

on 1/13/2009 Very good, informative article on fleas! Thank you!

on 1/5/2009 This is a great article with alot of accurate information, especially the emphasis on treating the environment. With 5 animals constantly in & out of my home, I realized how important it was to treat my yard and maintain it to subdue the problem. I went through every possible solution offered. Being a "do-it-yourself" person I began researching home remedies and natural products. I thoroughly disliked exterminators in/around my home and all the chemicals I knew they used. Besides they never worked anyways.
Upon some internet browsing I found a natural product that claimed to work to repel & eliminate fleas and ticks. So I ordered some Wondercide thinking "hey, I've tried everything else, why not this"? Well it worked. I've been using the Wondercide Evolv, EcoTreat, & BioDefense consistently for 3 months now, and have seen a drastic improvement around my home and on my pets. I couldn't

on 12/29/2008 i found that putting a low lamp on the floor and a shallow bowl w/ soapy water under the lamp at night works as a flea trap. they are attracted to the light, jump in and get stuck in the soap. just keep little ones and pets away from it, it will cause a soapy mess. but it works great.

on 12/29/2008 i have found that if you put a low lamp on the floor at night and a shallow bowl with water and dish soap under the lamp it acts like a flea trap, they are attracted to the light, jump in, and get stuck in the soap. just make sure you don't have any babys around that might play in it, my little one ended making a big soapy mess. but it works great especially is well infested homes.

on 11/21/2008 Fleas can be awful. You will need to steam clean everything! I read a decent article at:http://my-dog-has-fleas.com/articles/how-get-rid-dog-fleas-naturally . I found some useful information in that article. Get a fine tooth flea comb and comb your pet daily. Fleas multiply like crazy so you need to be diligent. Good luck.
