I called ask for my rate to be lowered for almost a year now this bank will not work with you. I talked with everyone, they sent me a new card and when I went to transfer the balance to the new card they said they cant do that but they sure can give you a new card. Barclays Bank is a rip off.

Be careful about allowing too many creditor inquiries to your credit history as this can result in the lowering of your credit score! Each time you ask for a credit account, your credit history is being checked.

I had a decent sized balance on one of my credit cards. I paid it off in one big payment. The next statement sent to me for the card informed me that I was being given a lower interest rate. I suppose they thought I was trying to get rid of the card and wanted to talk me out of it.

When requesting card cancelation, I have been offered much lower rates and very low transfer rates with no fees to keep me as a cardholder.
