on 3/4/2009 My wife quit smoking over 10 years ago and she says she still has the cravings. Nictotine is a powerful drug indeed. Thanks for the info and tips!

on 10/6/2008 Just quit when you run out of cigarettes... Make sure when you lite up again you are deciding for yourself that it is truly what you want. You CAN have a cigatette if you want to be a smoker again. Just don't let the nicotine decide for you. The cravings come on hard but leave just as fast as they come. The longer you go without smoking the shorter the craving becomes. I have been smoke free 2 months now. Even today I get a craving every once and a while. I still ask myself the same thing. Do I want to be a smoker? NO

on 7/29/2008 Very nice...smoking is definitely something I need to quit doing!

on 7/12/2008 Also, whenever you see cigarettes, an ashtray, someone smoking, etc, reinforce that you don't smoke by saying something positive to yourself like, "I don't smoke anymore". Reinforcement is very important and it works. Great article!
