on 10/14/2009 I got bit by a weird stray kitty a few says ago. The wound is not very serious but for some reason it got all bruised around it. Now two says later its still twitching weirdly and throbs quite a bit. Should I be worried?

on 9/27/2009 well i just got bit by my cat today and i put hydrogen peroxide and it felt much better!!

on 8/20/2009 I've been bitten deeply on my hands and fingers many times and have never had a problem. Most people who have issues with cat bites have weak/compromised immune systems and/or poor genetics (not well bred; coming from poor stock). These are also the same people you see bathing in Purell hand sanitizer everywhere they go.

I credit my stellar immune system to living in Mexico for 2 years (Yes, I drank the water).

on 8/13/2009 Make sure the cat doesnt have rabies also. They said that most indoor cats if they remain indoors and not allowed to go out they most likely dont have rabies

on 8/13/2009 Guys, sorry for saying this site was funny. I read more of the blog and feel bad about that. I was just laughing at the guy who started the entry saying "My cat bit me today" and the woman that said her brother is very annoying etc. Those were funny posts, the rest were not. In any event, I read a doctors journal on cat bites and they said number 1, debride the wound immediately (Hydrogen Peroxide) than wash it out. If your over 50 and have a immuno deficiency issue go to the doctor immediately. Sorry again, this isnt funny.

on 8/13/2009 Just to re-define what I mean by funny, I meant that everyone here googled cat bites and he we are making these comments. Its just such a random thing. My sympathies do go out to the horror stories. I dont want you guys thinking I was trivializing those. Its not funny when you have to go to the doctor.

on 8/13/2009 This is a classic blog. This is one of the best laughs I have gotten in the morning in a long time. The problem is, I am a little concerned about the cat bite I just received. It was ridiculous. my cat chloe is a little fiesty but we are very good friends with a long history. She wakes me up in the morning with a little nibble, but this time she has gone a little too far and lightly punctured the skin. It got a little red and painful, but I washed it and put on peroxide on it. Now it seems the redness went down. Thank God my cat doesn't go outside and mess around with strange creatures like other outdoor cats. I dont think it is ever wise to let your cat go outside. They get used to the inside if you just keep them there. There is a reason they came up with the quote: "Look what the cat dragged in".

on 8/11/2009 wow! Better watch out not to get cats riled up - they do have that 'wild' streak!!

on 6/10/2009 I had a bad cat bite last year by a stray cat that I was taking care of. Blood was squirting out and it was really swollen and then colorful and painful as it healed. Was given augmintin also and was told it would give massive diarrhea but it didn't at all...did anyone else get it? lol.

on 4/13/2009 At Tigerbites: Your cat bit you because he was in an aggressive situation with another cat, trying to protect his territory lines. You either startled him, or he saw you as a threat in this situation because you were trying to thwart his efforts to protect his territory. Plus, cats occasionally bite - that's just the way it is. If you're honestly considering putting your cat to sleep just because he bit you once, then you are without a doubt one of the most irresponsible pet owners I have ever encountered. Also, if he hasn't been neutered (it sounds like he hasn't), then you should have him neutered, as it will likely make him less aggressive and territorial.

on 4/7/2009 i was bitten my cat today. he was howling/growling at another cat as he was on the window sill. when i try to bring he down he bit me. his bite punchured my shin and i was scratch badly. it looks like it's going to heal soon. i cleaned it with peroxide and mertodol. now i'm worry about my cat. i love him alot but, i don't know if i can control anymore. he has always been a though cat. for five year we had had our ups and downs. but this time he has bitten me. what are my obtions? to put him to sleep? i know if i put him for abdoption nobody would what to take him. he is an inside cat that acts like an alley cat. who wants that inside their home. poor tiger . what i'm i going to do with him.

on 4/6/2009 4.6.09 - BITE FROM TINY entry #3: It's been 6 days now. Things are definitely healing up great. This site scared me a lot, let me tell you. I probably won't update again, because I'm going to be just fine. Here's what's going on right now: I've been on Augmentin for 5 days and I've been applying Oregano Oil for 4 days. All bites/scratches are doing well. Oregano Oil is awesome. I used it on a place where I bit the inside of my cheek and it was almost healed in one day. It is very "spicy" as my 2 year old noted, and it burns a bit. Anyway not much of a loose stool with Augmentin, contrary to the doctor's warning. And I will definitely use Oil of Oregano from here on out on just about any wound. Good luck to anyone reading this, because you were probably recently attacked by a cat!!! Take a deep breath, get some oil of oregano, get some augmentin, and don't kill the cat.

on 4/2/2009 4.2.09 - BITE FROM TINY entry #2: Woke up with wounds looking about the same as last night - a bit swollen and painful, but not too bad. One change, however, was that the skin around the punctures had turned kind of brown and my leg bite has deep bruising, quite colorful. The doctor gave me a prescription for Augmentin - per my suggestion - 875mg 2x daily, which, he said causes major diarrhea, by the way, fyi!!! We'll see!! I asked him what it would take for him to prescribe IV, or Hand surgeon, or draining. He said that my bite wounds would need to be much more swollen. He was concerned and said that things can go backward or forward with these wounds. He said to watch and report back with whether it was getting better or worse in 3 days or as soon as I could tell. Will keep you posted!!!

on 4/1/2009 4.1.09 - BITE FROM TINY entry #1: I was bitten by domestic, indoor, Tiny (small cat)today around 11AM. Bites on both hands (right thumb knuckle and left pointer knuckle and left middle knuckle); and two bites on right thigh. I washed the bites first with anti-bac. hand soap, then applied neosporin, then later in the day rubbed betadine on them, then applied more neosporin. Around 4pm I realized that both hands were becoming more painful and swollen, but still working. I made an apointment to see doctor for tomorrow at 9:15 am. I didn't see all of these entries until 11:00 pm and I'm going to wait for my appointment instead of going to the ER right now. (I know, I know.)I have also put in an online order for an overnight delivery of Oregano Oil and Collidal Silver, after reading the two entries on that. Will post again after tomorrow's doctor's appointment. I'm sure I'll wake up immobile

on 11/16/2008 Finished therapy for the most part. My finger is still larger than the other index finger and I've lost some of the mobility and strength. The cat apparently punctured the tendon sheath. Still doing exercises, but not as much, and it still aches on some days. I sure hope it all goes away soon!
