My name is Ajaz Ahmad. I just read the article about hair loss which says that it is normal to lose 50 to 100 hairs a day. That was the case with me but I started something to avoid it. First, I thought, I should be doing something towards this problem but still not sure what to do. Anyway, I started with whatever I had. My wife bought me shampoo which has cleanser, treatment and another spray. Along with it I used an indian herbal oil which I bought from the local market .. not very costly, with both of them, every morning I see a few hair on wash basin like less than 10. I do that daily. I also use vitamin supplements like centrum as well

Atleast twice in a week put coconut oil in your hair & let it for 15 - 30 min's or massage it for 15 min's then wash it with natural shampoo. It will makes your hair stronger & prevent hair loss.

Go see a dermatologist - if you are a woman losing her hair, don't wait, get an appt. with a dermatologist. I lost a bunch of hair on the top of my head, and had oily itchy scalp and oily skin. Dr. put me on the pill (Yasmin, which has an anti-androgen) and my skin cleared up, my scalp is no longer oily and after 7 months my hair is starting to grow back. I wish I would have went sooner, I might have saved more of my hair. Don't wait!

If you have iron deficiency, that would be a serious and cardinal reason why you loose your hair. If you have low levels of iron in your blood, that means that you have no "transport means" for the essential nutrients to reach their destination. So even if you have sufficient vitamins intake, no iron entails no use of them. Start thinking of it and have a blood analysis. That worked for me and saved my hair.

I used to use regular shampoo which caused my scalp to be very itchy, and the scratching damaged my hair. Now I use a natural shampoo free of sodium sulphates, and my scalp is no longer itchy. I used to think it was normal to have an itchy scalp, until I read about sodium sulphates.

Girls out there, when you're PMSing, you can lose a lot of blood at times. A lot of blood loss makes your body weaker. If you just started to lose hair, best wait at least a week until your period is over to see how it goes. If it doesn't improve, go see your physician. Also, if you're just starting the "puberty" stage, your hormones are going crazy. Just wait a while is the best thing.
Don't wash your hair with really warm or hot water. It feels really good to do so, but it's not as good for your hair as using lukewarm water. Try not to scratch your hair or have it tied too tight all the time (i.e. Ponytails, French braids).

Insist on having a blood check done on your full thyroid blood count! (These) hormones are responsible for vital functions in your body. Hair loss can be the visual result of a deficiency! The invisible side could be your organs not fully working. So get your hormones checked and your whole nightmare might be over!

I thought it was normal for some of my hair to fall out after shampooing. After doing some online research about sodium laureth & sodium laurel sulfates and switching to a shampoo that does not include those harsh ingredients (which can be found at a local health food store or online) I now have much healthier hair that doesn't fall out. Plus always avoid hot water on your scalp.

on 12/16/2005 Do not brush your hair immediately after washing. Roots become weaker after washing. Always let the hair air dry and then brush.
