Return to article: How to get beautiful with cheap, natural remedies around your house
on 5/28/2008 Dear Ladybug, There are a couple of ways you can use olive oil to soften the texture of your nails and make them less brittle. The key for dry, brittle nails is to lock in moisture. Method (1): Soak your hands in about a half-cup of warm olive oil. Oil treatment helps moisturize nails while helping to retain moisture over a long period of time. Method (2): Take a Q-tip and dip one of the ends into a bottle of olive oil. Or, if it is easier, pour some out into a little bowl and then dip your Q-tip in. Then just brush the Q-tip over your cuticles and on the top and inside of your nails. Keep dipping when needed. Hope this helps!
