Actually, I don't mind the bones. I just crush them down with a fork, then use it all in a recipe like salmon patties. More calcium this way.

I am 5'1"and my aunt was 4'10" -she taught me to mash up the soft bones in canned salmon and use them -she said we couldn't afford to shrink any shorter than we already were! LOL No one has ever noticed them in my salmon pie!

I like salmon so much, that I just smush the bones and skin in with the salmon for the salmon patties. The crushed crackers I use in the patties absorb the oil. The cat can eat his food dry.

All in all great ideas. Love the thought of the omelet! Quiche (or impossible pie) is good I know. Your white sauce recipe should be 2T Flour and 2T butter (not butter and butter). I leave the smaller fine bones in my canned salmon and eat them for the extra calcium. It's much less prep work(just remove the bigger ones because they're chalky tasting).

Wow, this brought back memories. As a kid, my dad worked in construction. When the weather prevented him from working much, we ate A LOT of canned salmon! Great ideas that don't sound too bad!
