Return to article: How to Save Gas Money
on 6/21/2008 Up to $4.60 (for the cheap stuff) here in Lincoln CA .. these tips are just in time! Thanks!
on 5/4/2008 Thanks - as gas climbs, we need to heed all of these tips.
on 4/27/2008 Good arctile. Step 2 however depends on the gearing of your vehicle, most commuter cars are built with a low gear ratio for better low speed acceleration. Whereas, larger Luxury/Touring cars are geared with a higher ratio for maintaining a higher speed on the highway. Hold a speed that requires the least depression of the gas pedal to maintain, whether it's 55 or 75(traffic laws permitting of course). A car with a high gear ratio will "lug" at too low a speed for the selected gear, and get worse fuel economy.
on 4/25/2008 Wow! Where do you live? It is $3.61 here.
on 4/25/2008 Let me revise that...it is now over $4 a gallon here today :(
