on 6/4/2009 Thanks for the info! Too bad martial arts training was "unheard of" when I was young and fit ('70's through mid '90's). I was a cheerleader and an avid swimmer (in lakes and rivers) in the '70's and was still in really good shape through the early '90's. But we - especially women - didn't have any other options in most of Arkansas. When I moved to Little Rock, after high school, I still had no resources to do such things. By the time I found out about martial arts in the Little Rock area, I figured I was too old to take classes with kids. Too bad...would have loved to learn some for self defense...could have saved me a lot of grief and bad memories, I'm sure. Again, thanks for sharing your time and articles. :)
