Read about our Gov. and storing food. Learn all you can now and try to be ready. Just think every thing has a chip to run the item and Big Brother has the ability to shut it all down within minutes. There goes your local food supply and water.

Everything sounds good except for the water. Water does not have a shelf life. I mean...come on. Improperly stored water can grow bacteria...true, but if you have a good water filter like one from Katadyn or LifeSaver - then you can easily filter the water clean. I have hundreds of gallons of untreated water stored up. No matter how clean it looks, I'm still going to filter it just to be sure. Don't get me wrong...great article!

For those with smart phones I just found several "Food Storage Apps" that can help you keep track of your grocery lists, stock levels, expiration dates, and such. Very cool especially for those just getting started! -

With the cost of fuel effecting the cost of food and other goods, my family had started stock piling canned goods and put in a garden. Now I have a better idea of how much space and food I am really going to need. Great article!!
