on 9/16/2008 Taking a hot sitz bath with vinegar can help to sooth the area. Eat yogurt daily. Also stay away from antibiotics. This feeds on the yeast. I found some really helpful information at http://squidoo.com/yeastinfectionhelp during my research.

on 8/27/2008 Douching is never a good idea, but especially so when experiencing a vaginal imbalance! Douching can easily push the yeast infection (or whatever it is that causing discomfort) past the cervix and into the uterus. This can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease and in severe cases, infertility.

on 7/12/2008 I havn't tried it... but to add to the hydrogen peroxide water mix... it might be a good idea to add a little vinegar to the mix because vinegar will nuetralize the ph level in your vagina since the ph of vinegar is similar to the ph in your vagina which will decrease the growth of yeast. Just an idea. The only thing is... I don't know how hydrogen peroxide and vinegar will react together. You can also leave out the hydrogen peroxide and just douch with a vinegar water mix... but I don't think that solves all the problems down there. I'm waiting for a yeast infection to try this out on... so if someone else tries it and it works or doesn't work.... you should email me at butterflygodess08@yahoo.com and let me know.

on 7/10/2008 I've tried these things. Eating the garlic, not the use above, and cutting sugar from my diet cured me. People don't realize how much sugar they consume.

on 5/6/2008 After trying creams, tablets, garlic, and multiple other methods I found online I could not seem to find a way to sustain anything more than temporary relief.I used to get these yeast infections often, but NOT ANYMORE. Finally I found information that worked and eliminated my infections.

on 11/29/2007 Garlic cloves have always worked wonders for me. I used to wrap the peeled clove in gauze, just like this article suggests, but a few years ago, - out of gauze and desperate - I just inserted the whole, peeled clove. It worked great, so now I skip the wrapping and use a fresh clove each day until the symptoms are gone - usually 2-3 days. If you take birth control pills and/or antibiotics you should be aware they increase your chance of yeast infections. Taking garlic supplements - avaiable at natural foods stores - in addition to eating yogurt and/or taking Acidophilus supplements daily are helpful to many women. And keeping the sugar out of your diet can make a huge difference too. Find other ways to "treat" yourself - finding an herbal tea you love is a great place to start.

on 9/27/2007 I have suffered from yeast infections for several years. I believe its from being on antibiotics for so long. OTC creams and prescriptions no longer work for me. The doctor has even prescribed me a triple dose of diflucan, and it still didn't work. I decided to give yogurt a try, and I was amazed at how well it worked. I used it for only a few days and it cleared right up. I simply use a latex glove and fill the fingers with yogurt and then freeze it. I cut a finger off each night and insert it. The fact that it was cold very soothing. I also started taking an OTC supplement called acidophilus which is the same thing you get from yogurt. Please try it!
