on 9/18/2008 I love this article - very interesting!

You've conjured up a stored thought: I've heard that "witch" was a name given to the wise women to diminish their level of power and undermine their respect in turn positioning the rise of a patriarcal society. This was a way the conventional social and political powers controlled the growth of Bohemian groups - government always distracts the masses with a "made enemy", which the unusual individuals usually are appointed the title.

This is a great topic to think about!

on 7/27/2008 great article! I love Bohemian-- the style, the culture, and the unconventional, alternative lifestyle that musicians, writers, poets, and the artists lived. I also love the beatniks.
