on 7/31/2008 It's too hot in Mississippi to let the cat box go more than two days...

on 4/25/2008 I've never poured boiling water in there before. I usually wipe with antibacterial wipes but I will try your suggestion. Thanks

on 4/21/2008 I have also got in the practice of doing something "in between" those deep "once a month" cleanings... powder carpet freshners or baking soda. After I dump all the cat litter I will sprinkle the powder (maybe 1 Tbsp) and than put the desired amount of cat little on top of it. **Do not put too much of the powder due to it's strong odor. Aka... a little bit goes a long way.

on 4/6/2008 Once a month! Are you nuts? I'd never do that to my cat or ME. Another thing that is kinder to liter boxes is getting cats on real meat protein not the stuff that is dry or commercial cans. I use tuna in oil for mine as she's an old senior and all the other stuff was causing her to toss it up. Cats are meat eaters. She's doing so much better. No more urine crystals, antibotics, and etc. also added vitmin/minerals and renal support & she readily eats the tablets! Ok enough - http://joyceparks.iamagel.com Have a good one.

on 4/6/2008 With 3 indoor feline kids I scoop out the litter box every time I notice someone has used it, change and clean once a week, sometimes even twice. Putting myself in their 'paws', I would appreciate clean litter after every use, especially since sharing the potty with others! We use Feline Pine, and even despite what the directions are I still have to clean it out at least once a week. I can't imagine once a month would be sanitary OR healthy for anyone!

on 4/6/2008 yeah... once a month...

i don't know.

but i wish i only had to do it once a month!

on 4/6/2008 Yes, we clean once maybe twice a day, and bleach once a month.

on 4/6/2008 I'm guessing the once a month is in regard to sanitizing the cat box? The litter box should be scooped daily (as many times as possible).

on 4/5/2008 Once a MONTH?! Oh, my word. THAT'S a house everyone will peg as a cat house.
