on 10/13/2009 Here's a wonderfully written blog on “How to cure a cold sore in a day. It’s written by Lab Rat v-Ki-ras2 as I copied his profile picture over here-lol.

This treatment worked for me, which is more than I can say for any medication I’ve tried over the years. FYI: This isn’t some wannabe product by a company trying to make a buck off your misery. Here are the links:

on 11/25/2008 Good article. Another way to reduce cold sores is to use Aloe Vera cream. It will dry it up fast.

on 1/14/2008 Check out LicoriceBHT.com it has a compilation of articles . Herpecin-L and Lysine are a cover, Ear wax is Insane. Rubbing alcohol is for sadists.. Licorice root or the GA extract from it (Vitamin shop) and BHT a food preservative wil KILL the dormant cell and STOP th eoutbreaks.

on 12/20/2007 Household Bleach - applied with a Q-tip as soon as you feel the tingle of an impending cold sore has worked for me on occasions when liquid ViraMedX was not available. Dabbing the sores with the bleach seems to work almost as well! This was recommended to me by a 90 year old woman who has done this for years - so it obviously doesn't kill you!

on 12/3/2007 Go to the American Science Journal Online: Write Licorice and BHT (food preservative). They will send you to a link about how they kill the inner membrane and remove it forever. I was once ever month, now i'm 3 months good. We shall see: I take Licroice, Super Antioxidant(b12 and such), advanced acidophilus, and the BHT.

on 11/27/2007 DMSO & Abreva- As soon as you feel that horribly familiar tingle use the roll-on DMSO immediately on the affected area. After that dries a bit and will probably burn as well, apply Abreva. When the area is dry, apply an ice pack to the area for about 15-20 minutes to help reduce inflammation and relieve pain. This routine usually works well for me and the blister subsides within a day or two without scabbing over. The skin in that area will most probably peel, so don't be alarmed if that happens.

on 8/20/2007 I have gotten cold sores all my life. Thanks to research online and different forums just like this one I was able to find a remedy that cuts my colds sores into 3-5 days max. They never form into a full cold sore if I follow these steps,so I thought I would pass the steps along...Now, I warn you that a couple of the steps sound painful but trust me it works!:-)

From the first moment you feel a tingle do the following: Take 1 or 2 L-lysine pills 1000mg..
Take a cotton ball, soak it in vinegar and press it on the cold sore for 30 seconds to a minute...if you have a cold sore that is not open you might need to take a clean needle and pierce the sore to let the vinegar get in there. THen let the sore air out for a a few seconds and then apply Abreva. Keep doing these steps all throughout the day. On the first day I also use nail polish remover on a cotton ball, sounds weird I know:-)

on 4/14/2007 Abreva does not work, it just makes a sloppy mess and is expensive, I have tried everything but the only solution that I found to work was doctors cold sore solution available nationwide and online at www.doctorssolution.com. It is the best solution available hands down!
