Make sure that you get at least eight hours of sleep every night to clear up acne. Anything that removes stress is always a good idea, as built-up stress can be one of the reasons why your skin is breaking out. I use Proactiv, although it doesn't work for everyone. Another thing you could try is isopropyl alcohol 70%, although it recommends not to on the container. That's because it dries up your skin pretty quickly, and you'll need to drink at least 64 ounces (or 8 cups) a day of water. Anything with Zinc is very helpful, as well as health drinks that contain a lot of Vitamin C or Vitamin B forms. I've found Vitamin Water very helpful, as many of the varieties contain at least 50% of Vitamin B forms. There's one that has 250% Vitamin C, and it actually tastes good. If you want to add anything to your regimen, I'd also recommend applying orange juice onto your face from a cotton ball. You can pour a little bit of orange juice into a cup and put the cotton ball in half way, that should be enough. Finally, don't let acne ruin your life, regardless of its severity. -

Although it's expensive, and men can't really benefit from it, most pill-type birth control will clear acne, with the unfortunate side effect of weight gain. However proper diet and exercise, will reduce this effect. I was on the pill for 5 years, and completely acne free. Now that I'm off it, my acne has returned, and with a vengeance! -

First off, if you pop your pimples to the point you have taken it off your face (meaning you now have an open sore) then put Neosporin on it 1-3 times a day and before you go to bed (or if it's just when you go to bed helps too). If you do this it will heal in a couple of days. To get rid of a pimple put hemorrhoid ointment on it before you go to bed, or tea tree oil (find which one works best for your skin. I know you hear this a lot, but drinking a lot of water will clear up your skin! But you still have to eat right. I try to eat at least 2 fruits and vegetables a day, which also seems to help. -

I also tried ProActiv with high hopes. Turns out I had an allergic reaction which sent me to the hospital! A friend gave me her supply of Serious Skin Care A-wash and the entire "A" line. It's for mature skin, but worked wonders on my acne! It worked within a week and I haven't had a problem since! It's pretty costly (I spend $100 every month or two now), but considering the money I spent on every other acne solution under the sun, it's worth it. Especially since I can go out in public without being self conscious! -

If you have acne and you want to get rid of it, then why not use mother natures cure! Drink water! Drink at least 8 glasses a day. Or, if you're on the go, bring along a water bottle everywhere you go. I tried just drinking water, and over the past 2 days I've seen a difference! -

Pores will not open if you put hot water on them. It's just a myth. (your pores will probably expand slightly) Plus, the hot water can dry out your skin. I suggest Murad products. -

Every morning, before breakfast, rub beaten egg yolks on your face. Let it sit and dry, but not for too long! The bacteria in eggs will multiply and cause acne. Then rinse your face, wash, and go on through your day. Do this every morning, and night, if you want. What helps is the massive amounts of vitamin E that is present in the egg yolks. -

I've found that eating dairy products contributes significantly to my acne. A naturopathic doctor helped me realize that dairy (and for some folks, wheat or other kinds of foods) can irritate the body and cause acne. It took about a year for me to finally cut out all dairy products (including cheese, milk, whey and casein), but it makes a real difference for me. -

Washing my face with very cold water seems to leave my skin soft, my acne less inflamed and my pores minimized. I could really tell the difference within minutes. Also, taking Ibuprofen (i.e. Advil) should reduce inflammation and redness as well. -

Don't pick the acne. Drink lots of water. Steam your face. Avoid stress and fatty foods. -

Washing your face every day to prevent acne isn't enough! Acne is forming even when your at work or on the computer! We touch a lot of things every day and those things have millions of bacteria on them. And sometimes in the day we touch our face. All that bacteria causes acne, so the best thing you should have is a hand sanitizer like Germ-X ( which kills 99.9% germs) nearby. If you do happen to touch your face, you won't be causing acne because you fought off the germs with the sanitizer! -

I am a pro with acne- and have been dealing with it for years. Here are my results: 1) Go to a dermatoligst and he couldn't even help me with accutane, after trying everything from his face wash to natural stuff, to Pro-Activ, I tried Arbonne- Clear Advantage line (you can get it online) and am SOO happy with it!! 2) Tea Tree oil- put it on a pimple and it clears up without redness 3) Use a face mask regularly (no more than 2x a week though) 4) Use non-comedgenic (sp?) makeup Good Luck!! -

I just wanted to remind readers that your pores do not open and close in response to hot/cold water. In general, pores grow or stretch due to a build up of dead skin cells (so make sure your cleaning regiment includes an exfoliating step) or from picking at/popping pimples. So, use steam or hot water if it feels good or works for you, but it doesn't open up your pores. -

Take Neem capsules twice a day. That's all you need to keep the zits away. It also clears toxins in your system. I've tried numerous oral medications and topical ones too, nothing works as well as this.
