on 2/15/2008 This is true. Just look for a network you do not normally see and connect to it. Sometimes the establishment owner will give you a website to go to first and then you type the username and password. Sometimes there is a time limit. Do not access any sensitive information while you are on a shared wi-fi network like this, though.

on 2/1/2008 Great information! I've always been hesitant to try this, since I have broadband access, I was afraid to connect to WiFi in case it messed up my broadband access! ha ha...Guess it's time to try something new! :)
