Return to article: How to Join an Indian Tribe
on 6/16/2008 I didn't know you could be enrolled without being related. I learned something new! Thanks! :)
on 5/15/2008 great article my boyfriend is full blooded native american.
on 2/8/2008 Actually I better explained the recognized tribes, etc in one of my other articles : How to find out if you belong to an Indian Tribe.
on 2/8/2008 It's amazing how many people are interested in learning about their Native ancestry! You may want to point out that some tribes are State but not Federally recognized, and some aren't recognized at all. It's a complicated system.
on 2/7/2008 Very interesting, thank you.

on 1/30/2008 Very interesting information. Thank you for sharing.
on 1/30/2008 This is very interesting! It is amazing to think that I, a Jewish-Russian by decent, American by birth could become a member of the Lakotah tribe! This IS a great country!
on 1/30/2008 The Lakotah tribe is open to newcomers as they try to re-establish their own republic: http://www.republicoflakotah.com/
on 1/23/2008 Doesn't mean you're any less Indian -that's for sure!
on 1/23/2008 Unfortunately, my ancestors were "Old Settlers", disqualifying them from any rolls or benefits (of joining a tribe) because they left the area of their birth by choice, rather than force. But, as I've stated before, I am of Native American and Scots heritage. Happy to be where I am, between both worlds! :) Great information, Blackbear!
