Hey guys try this: Triderma MD Psoriasis Control Cream. I use it on my upper lip. it encourages shedding of old dry scales, relieves redness and itching, and helps skin look and feel normal. I bought this thinking my affliction was psoriasis, but now that Im reading all your comments, the light bulb went on! 5 weeks ago, my whole body itched, burned, stung, and welted. I didn't know what the heck. Im thinking it's something in the shower, the water, the environment, something in my new home..the list goes on. Doc's tested me for a whole list of allergens by blood, and I'm not allergic to anything. We didn't test for tomatoes, though, we didn't even think to! Then I remembered something, the day it all started, I picked loads of tomatoes for my mom in law in her backyard! My affliction lasted about 3 weeks. The lip thing, more like a year or so. Try the cream, it helps me alot to keep...

I'm not sure if I'm allergic to tomatoes and the like, but I constantly get diarrhea. I feel sick all the time and I'm tired a lot. Also I have this strange redness around my lips which makes them look clownish. My eyes itch and water a lot, too. I have a bunch of itchy patches on my scalp, under my jaw, and a few other places. Does this sound like something that might come from a tomatoe allergy?

I am allergic to tomatoes. Has anyone heard of the Deadly nightshade family? If you are allergic to tomatoes, chances are you can't eat potato either. Anyway, my symptoms are coughing after I eat tomatoes. It's persistent cough too. I also get flushed in the face and I have a hard time catching my breath. But, my mouth never burns and is never affected. However, I do get these red bumps on my scalp. I don't know if those are from stress or what. Does anyone else have these symptoms from eating tomatoes?

Cristee, in response to your post i have had exactly the same symptons with my eyes for over a year now. I have seen a few doctors and they think it could be an allergy but i havent had any allergy testing yet. I have been using eczema creams when it flairs up which help but they never get rid of it completely. I have been racking my brain to figure out what it is and recently I have started to suspect it may be an allergy to tomatoes. I would be interested to know the results of your tests and whether you have found a cause?

I have a large number of food allergies, according to the IgE blood test and the prick test, but I have no, I repeat NO, physical reaction to foods when I eat them. I have no trouble breathing or rash or swelling or other symptoms and I wasn't even aware of my food allergies until I got tested. I went in to be tested for physical allergies and wasn't even worried about food allergies. I am a chef and I am going out of my mind. I have never had any adverse reactions and now, suddenly, I am expected to stop eating everything from wheat, dairy and eggs or tomatoes beef and strawberries! I really dont' know what to think.

1-7-09 I recently found out I am allergic to eggs, oats, peanuts. The allergy specialists checked the tomatoe allergy & stated that I was not allergic to them but they do the same to my lips also except I get almost blister looking bumps all around my lips & they stay like that for a week. Lately when I have eaten spaghetti or ketchup my eyelids will turn red & itchy and swell up so I avoid all tomatoe products. I am now having problems with my eyelids swelling & underneath my eyes swelling & being itchy, it almost looks like I have been in a fight except for they are very dry looking. If anyone has any symptoms like this or advice please let me know... I am going back to the allergist & having patch skin tests in a couple of weeks.

I have been having some real funky things going on with my lips for the past few months. After visiting an allergist, I am now noticing that my issues occur when eating anything with tomatoes, which never happened before. I have small hive like bumps that burn when I eat tomatoes. It dries eventually, but takes forever to go away. I too was advised that is is not likely to be a food allergy due to the manner in which it occurs. I use blistex to dry the bumps up and then use vaseline only. Though it is still irritating.

Okay, so I have been trying to find out what has been going on with my lips as well. About early October I sarted to notice small hive like bumps on my upper lip which later turns into terrible dry feeling lips. I went to the allergist who states that it is not likely to be an allergic reaction because it does not occur immediately and the length of time it takes to go away. I have now taken notice to everything that I eat and when I consume anything with tomato my lips burn or break out in hives. Originally I used blistex and it helps just a little, but they remain dry. I use vaseline only for moisture and it eventually goes away. Try applying vaseline and wetting toothbrush and brushing the dead skin off your lips. Be careful not to brush hard as your lips are very sensitive, it helps to remove some of the dead, dry skin.

How do you make the rash around your lips go away after a encounter with tomatoes? It really doesn't matter what I eat if it involes tomatoes I get this all over again and it seems to take forever to go away.. Please help.
I went to allergen dr and they said I didn't have a allergy to tomatoes but this sure feels like one. Cause about ten minutes after eating something I should had eaten then I have this problem with my lips. Chapstick and lotions aren't doing the trick.
