on 1/3/2008 This is how I've made a lot of canvases. Another very inexpensive way to get a nice painting surface is to go to your local lumber/hardware store and purchase sheets of masonite. They will cut it to the size you want. Put on 2-3 coats of Gesso and you are ready to go! We painted on masonite about half the time in the art department at my college.
