Return to article: How to Deal With Secondhand Smoke
on 4/6/2008 tell her to open all the windows and fans ya poop
on 4/2/2008 Thank you BlueOx for your comment. My husband smoked for years and years and quit cold turkey a few years ago, I'm very proud of him. Now it's my turn.
on 4/1/2008 Great topic. I started smoking when I was 14. I quit a few years ago, and really do not want to be lured back into that web. I absolutely can not stand to be around cigarette smoke at all.
on 3/18/2008 I was a pack and a half a day smoker and quit smoking in one 30-minute treatment with laser therapy. I went to a company called Freedom Laser Therapy that provides a pain free low-level laser procedure which helps alleviate nicotine withdrawal symptoms. The staff at Freedom Laser Therapy is dedicated and passionate about helping smokers end their nicotine addiction. I would really recommend laser therapy to help you quit smoking. Go to their locations page to find a Freedom Laser Therapy clinic or a local quit smoking laser therapy practionioner in your area. http://www.freedomlasertherapy.com
on 3/18/2008 Your doing the right thing by trying to keep your kids away from it. Thanks for your comment.
on 3/18/2008 my parents are smokers and my kids are highly allergic, they know that is why we don't come over much but we do try and plan to come over when my kids are able to play outdoors, or when my parents will go outdoors to smoke.
on 2/22/2008 I totally agree with you Alex Frieske, thank you for your 2 cents and for your comment.
on 1/25/2008 I agree with you 100 percent. When my husband was a smoker we smoked in the house, but we had no children at home, When he quit smokeing I started smokeing outside, he said it didn't bother him if I smoked in the house, but it bothered me. I still am trying to quit, again. Thanks for your comment.
on 1/25/2008 i can understand how people smoking in public don't intend for me to breathe it in... but people who smoke indoors when there are children in the home get me pretty fired up. those poor kids can't help what's happening to their lungs.
on 1/25/2008 I agree. Thanks for the comment.
on 1/24/2008 I suggest watching the movie: Thank You For Smoking. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0427944/). A dark satirical perspective on the situation. In all seriousness, your mom should be considerate of your sensitivity to second hand smoke and smoke outside or blow the smoke in one of those smoke sucking filter thingies, or better yet.. quit. ;)

on 1/19/2008 I can't really give any advise about smoking, because I smoke, but I quit every once in a while to give my lungs and heart a break, when I do quit I can breath so much better, so I don't know why I keep going back to smoking, plus the cost just keeps getting higher and higher. Maybe you can keep a bedroom window a little open, if it is safe to do so where you live, that might help with your eyes. Since my husband quit smoking, I just smoke outside. When I do quit smoking for a while I use the nicotine patches, they really work for me. Good luck.
on 1/18/2008 Hey this is good to know on my part. My mom smokes alot and i dont. i get rather sick for the second hand smoke and i dont mean to make her feel bad but at times it is so hard for me to handle. I sleep there for days at a time and it is hard to sleep even and my eyes hurt real bad. So it is hard for me to keep away from it. do u have any advice for my mom?
