Return to article: How to Get a Possum off Your Dresser
on 9/17/2008 Okay, I stand corrected. They can get rabies, but it is extremely rare that they are found with the disease. And they have decided that the possum is not a lago after all. I found only 2 possums that have tested positive in the past several decades. Very sorry about that. So now I can go feel stupid, oh well.
on 9/17/2008 There has never been a confirmed case of rabies in a possum. Just so you know. A possum is part of a family of animals called lagomorphs, none of them are known to carry rabies and no cases have ever been confirmed in any of them. This includes, squirrels and rabbits as well.
on 8/26/2008 Great tips! I've never had a possum on my dresser, but I have had one on my front porch. Seems she came for the cat food. Haven't seen her lately, so I hope she's ok. A very good laugh!
on 6/23/2008 How FUNNY! Did you also know, if you scare the possum, it will "play possum"? We had this situation. Unfortunatey, they like to eat chickens. We sent our 14 yr old to shoot the possum in the hen house. Well, he came back and said the deed was done, the possum was laying by the gate not moving. Just a few minutes later, the hens were all upset again, this time my husband went. Yes, the possum was alive and well terrorizing the chickens again - seemed he had fooled my son by "playing possum"!
on 1/18/2008 First we need to analyze the reasons this oppossum is laying on the your dresser staring at you as you're sleeping. He or she doesn't want to sleep alone? Maybe a great big deer is out there? Curiosity? The oppossums all made a bet? Whatever the reason, it was a good one and he or she wasn't about to move! Awesome article! Thank you for the hard belly laugh!
on 1/2/2008 You should do a follow-up article: How to not have a stroke when you find a possum on your dresser.

on 11/28/2007 Hi Princess Bride; ( I hear there's a new version coming out.) About your article . . . I would be the one running into the other room and sending my wife to get the possum out. ( she's bigger than me )You do have a sense of humour. I was reading it to my wife and "laughing all the way" to borrow the words of some song. Ron
