Return to article: How to STUDY THE BIBLE
on 7/18/2008 IMPORTANT NOTE. Being that there are over 110 versions of the Bible in our English language. Gail Riplingers 700 page book NEW AGE BIBLE VERSIONS is must reading. ( This is for anyone wanting to get to the bottom of the Bible version issue.)
on 7/17/2008 To HELP you study the Bible on your own, you will benefit from these RESOURCES: New Living Translation Bible and New King James Version Bible (use both as you study along). BIble Commentaries to help you understand what is being said and what the context is from history and its meaning (this is called hermenutics). Use Thru the Bible by J. Vernon McGee, and THe Bible KNowledge Commentary. To find the original word from the original manuscripts of the BIble use the Interlinear Bible by Jay Green Sr. To study the basics of Christianity go through the discipleship information in the "School of BIblical Evangelism" book. It also tells you how to share the gospel correctly according to the Bible. You can additionally go through free audio lessons as you study through the Bible at: http://www.austinbiblechurch.com/thruthebible.asp
on 12/6/2007 Did you know that there are over 110 English Versions of "God's Word?" With the way that the NEW revisions of the scriptures are going . . . ( Satan’s way.) It won’t be long until all references to Jesus Christ being the only way to God . . . Will be taken out. I wonder how many “Christians” will think that this is a good version when it comes out? Of course it will be against the law to own a King James Version of the scriptures by then
on 11/26/2007 I agree with most of this article but have found the NIV or NRSV to be a great version of the Bible also. Good article though!
