The article did, in fact, have some good comments. But in reality, spot reducing cannot be done. The body loses fat evenly, all over. Eating right and exercising are the keys to successful weight loss. This should not be a diet, but a way of life.

I agree with the "Spot Reducing" notion, but I must disagree with your statement that the "Eat Early" notion isn't true. In part, you are right. Calories are calories and it doesn't matter when you eat them. However, research shows that if you eat earlier (Breakfast) your metabolism increases earlier and you are less likely to overindulge throughout the day. And, research has shown, that if you eat a healthy breafast, you are much more likely to eat healthier throughout the day in order not to ruin your smart decision in the morning.

A few good tips, but 2 major problems. First of all attempting to lose weight in one particular region (called "Spot Reducing") is a completely bogus notion. You can do all the situps and abdominal exercises you want, and it will help strengthen muscle beneath the fat, but it will not help you lose weight in that only that one particular region. As we diet and exercise we lose weight more evenly throughout the body. In fact, due to heredity and gender, some people actually hold to weight in particular regions (stomach for men, hips for women). The 2nd problem with the article is the whole "Eat early" notion. Research has shown time and time again that it does not matter when you eat your calories, but only how many calories you have. There are a few goods tips in the article, but remember that there is no quick, easy, and safe way to losing weight. Diet, exercise, & resolve.

on 1/3/2008 Oh, that darn stomach weight, I cannot stand it. Thanks for the ideas. Bloating will definitely make you look heavier even if you are not.
