on 11/22/2005 Use stuff that stinks and is salty. Chicken livers work great on channel cats. Snyders pretzel bits also work great on cats and carp. Shad work good on large flatheads. Use a crappie rig if putting it on the bottom isn't working (or you're getting snags).

on 11/22/2005 Take some corn. It doesn't have to be cooked. Put a little pepper on it and then you should find out where the catfish are. Move it up and down and they'll attack, I swear.

on 11/22/2005 To catch catfish in lakes mainly and will also work in rivers: you should use blood bait with tube worm that will hold the bait in and let it sit for about 20 minutes. If nothing, rebait it and try again.

on 11/22/2005 Anything that stinks is a good catfish bait. I use grubs and let them sit in the sun for a day or two. I also tend to drag it deep as a rule of thumb...it may not smell nice but it works!

on 11/22/2005 Catfish are scavangers, and they rely on smell. Anything that smells rotten or gross to you is a sure-fire bait for catfish!

on 11/22/2005 If you want to catch a monster catfish, try spitting Levi Garrett pouch tobacco on your bait.

A little beer doesn't hurt either.
