on 3/13/2008 A credit repair company disputes the items on your credit report to being reported correctly. If any part of that items is incorrect the agency reporting it should verify the accuracy by the law or remove it from your credit report. By using a credit repair company they know how to use the law to your favor. They are not using fraud. A good credit repair company is Credit Investigation Service and the fee is reasonable. Their web site is creditinvestigationservice.com you should try them out.

on 3/3/2008 Credit Repair services can do the same things that you can do for yourself -- the difference is that they take the work out of it for you and have more experience handling this kind of process. on 1/28/2008 J R - you are incorrect. The writer is right on the money! If you have something on your credit report that is incorrect then it needs to be corrected. You cannot "repair" credit. It is either correct or incorrect. Hiring a service to remove derogatory accounts off a credit report when it is valid is fraud. So credit repair is illegal, correcting ones credit is not.
