on 1/28/2008 Nail polish dosen't work. It is messy to apply and chips off when you lock the earring back in. Furthermore, those clear plastic earring protective sleeves rip way too easily. Isn't there a stronger material of plastic, rubber, or nickel-free metal that someone has made into a resusable and durable protective sleeve? I love wearing cheap earrings from Claires, and I think expensive earrings are ugly. I would love to find a proper protective sleeve for earrings and I'm sure many others would like to know too. Thanks for any information that you can provide.
