on 5/5/2009 Your article on how to distinguish a fake Louis Vuitton has some flaws. I own an authentic Plat Sac Louis Vuitton ( Monogram Collection) and in your article, it stated that every authentic Louis Vuitton bag would have upside down LV's on the back of the bag. That does not hold true for the Plat Sac. You can also look online at www.LouisVuitton.com and look at the Plat Sac bag($1000) under the monogram collection and on the website where it shows the bag, you will be able to see that all of the LV's on the bag are right side up.

on 3/27/2009 A symbol of Louis Vuitton since 1896, the Monogram canvas was created by the son of Louis Vuitton, George Vuitton. He began a campaign to build the company into a worldwide corporation, exhibiting the company's products at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. In 1896, the company launched the legendary Monogram Canvas and made the worldwide patents on it. Its graphic symbols, including quatrefoils and flowers (as well as the LV monogram), were based on the trend of using Japanese and Oriental designs in the late Victorian era.Monogram canvas combines durability, flexibility and lightness. It is entirely impermeable and highly resistant to surface scratches. It is perfectly suitable for all kinds of uses: daily, business and travel. Monogram is available in a complete collection of timeless styles enriched each year by new models for both men and women.see more at http://www.any-bag.com/loui

on 11/27/2008 Wow. Most of the information in this guide is false! I love it when people post articles on a topic that they know very little about.

You should delete this article so that you aren't posting misinformation.

on 11/3/2008 Great stuff! I'll try this!

on 10/28/2008 I just purchased a Louis Vuitton in Paris (Avenue Montaigne)off the Champs Elysees but nothing I read here matches my Neverfull GM Monogram - my labels are all right side up and it looks like the bottom is sewn on. Am I looking at the wrong site? Please help.

on 10/18/2008 BTW, one more thing and I'm outta here....

Your Ads by Google take the reader to sites that sell counterfeit Louis Vuittons! Louis Vuitton does not wholesale, go on sale, discount or reduce in price their products, ever. There is only one way to buy an LV, and that's FULL PRICE, which has been going up roughly four times a year for about three years.

LV never distributes their product, they ONLY sell on two sites, and that is eLuxury and LouisVuitton, and they own both sites. Only LV factories owned by LV produce their product. Only LV employees sell their product at LV Boutiques and select high end Dept stores like Saks and Neiman Marcus because LV LEASES the counterspace at these stores. If you find brand new LVs ANYWHERE ELSE, they are counterfeit~!!

on 10/18/2008 Re: Cutting off LV logos...

LV tries to maintain the integrity of their logo, but they WILL sell items with the logo cut in half, sewn into seams and slightly off center. I was handed a zippy wallet at a Boutique with the LV broken in half, one half at the top, one half at the bottom. When I asked the SA about it, he said that LV will sell these items. Do not judge an LV item to be fake by the symmetry of the pattern or broken LVs alone.

on 10/18/2008 I'm becoming concerned with some of the factual mistakes being made on this site with reference to Louis Vuittn in regard to informing your readers.

Louis Vuitton bags come from the factory with plastic on the handles. If someone is on a wait list for a bag they can request that the plastic NOT be taken off the handles prior to buying it. Some sellers buy these extremely limited bags ~at full price~ intending to hold on to them and sell them when they sell out or go out of production. But yes, a buyer of an authentic LV can requst buying it with the plastic on the handles. The hardware is also covered with either blue or clear plastic and is often on the item when you purchase it.

YES, LV WILL CUT OFF THEIR LOGOS on occasion .... that they don't is a wive's tale. Now, they try extremely hard to make their items symmetrical and to keep the integrity of their logo, but I was pe

on 9/23/2008 The LV symbols are upside down on the back only on the speedy, papillion, and other bags that are one piece of fabric that is rolled all the way around. Many others styles such as the bucket, galleria, batignolles, etc. are right side up on the back. You can check sites like fashionphile for photos of real LV bags.

on 9/8/2008 I just purchased a louis vuitton purse at the Louis Vuitton Store off of Rodeo Drive. The LV symbols on the back are not upside down. Does this mean that the actual store is selling knock offs?
