on 6/23/2008 a good solution. i like it better then the pledge or yikes, the banana one. I use a product called disk armor. you put it on the disk and if the disk gets scrated, its disk armor which get scratched, take it off and put on another one, costs about a buck. www.disk-armor.com

on 10/18/2007 Now, if only Blockbuster would clean some of their DVDs. I keep getting unplayable DVDs from them and I'm about fed up.

on 8/24/2007 Mr. Owl, you absolutely must use the least abrasive polish you can. If you need to use a harsher pad/polish, you must follow up with a pure polish like a finishing glaze.

CD surfaces are indicative of how an automotive paint surface will react - if your method is scratching the CD, it will also scratch your car's paint.

on 7/24/2007 Keep in mind most CD's have a protective layer that is usually protects the middle portion of the CD where the data is, however some data CD's have the data sitting on the flip side of the labeling. In either case if you use a resurfacing method to repair a CD keep in mind that every time you do it, you run out of surface. The harder and more often you resurface a video game disc, CD or DVD the greater the chance in it failing or damaging the disc permanently. The best thing about the above method is you don't have to buy a kit if you have there materials around the house, if you don't have them around the house you should buy a kit as it would be cheaper. Some stores like GameCrazy (not all of em) even have a professional machine you can use for about a buck.

on 7/24/2007 Norman...I want to believe this because its so simple but when i tried it it just scratched the cd even more..what am i doing wrong? My buffer is slightly larger but thats the only thing i did different? I used a new buffer pad and a light polish and made sure all surfaces were clean.
