on 10/23/2007 Well written. You've described the look and how to get it. Becoming artistic happens by osmosis because anyone who dresses that way and complains about not being artistic will sooner or later learn the nuts and bolts of writing poetry, expressing him/herself in art, dance, prose writing and many other art forms. It's almost impossible not to be creative in a group of active creative people. If you draw every day, eventually you will be good at drawing. I find this very cool because I was like that for decades and then suddenly goth came up around me and whoa, the world thinks I'm cool just for being the same old me. I think the black + artistic + creative clothing thing goes way, way back to the Beat and before that even to the Edwardians. Maybe that's why Victorian Goth and Edwardian styles are so cool too.
