on 7/22/2007 You might also check out my article "How to Choose a Dog Portrait Artist" and adopt a dog from one of the many thousands of shelters in the U.S. (Since it's a gift for a dog lover...an elephant may not cut it).
on 7/20/2007 I can't think of a better gift for an animal lover than a portrait of their own pet. This can be done from a photograph, all the more poignant if the pet has already passed away. Another beautiful gift if they love animals, is a donation on their behalf to an organisation that benefits animals - not a zoo but rather a sanctuary or similar.
