Just pour some Clorox bleach in a spray bottle and spray it thoroughly on the dirty curtain. The blackness and the mildew will disappear in moments.

This is for the inside facing of a shower curtain that gets all mildewed: Dump undiluted bleach on it. The mildew seriously will just start to disappear. Just slowly pour straight out of the bleach bottle and let it coat the curtain. As soon as the bleach hits the mildew, it starts going away, and within like 30 seconds-1 minute there is much less noticeable mildew! Rinse off with water. Of course, be careful not to inhale the bleach and use gloves!

Step into the tub and spray the liner with Lysol bathroom cleaner. Step out of the tub and place both hands on the outside of the liner and bring your hands together to start rubbing. When finished, step into tub and the spray liner off with hot water. This is a quick method. No real work for you!

You can put the shower curtain in the washer with detergent and baking soda and it will come out clean.

I just threw the thing in the tub itself, stopped up the drain, added about 4 cups of bleach, and filled the tub with hot water, and pushed all the air out of it. I soaked it that way overnight, and though it didn't get everything out, it did well considering. Then, I dumped a lot of baking soda into the water to neutralize the bleach, and safely drained out the water.

The washing machine ate the cheap shower curtain from the dollar store, but did a pretty good job getting the mild mildew off the sturdy one. I taped the good shower curtain against the shower wall to use as a backing for the steam cleaner. It got rid of the caked on yucky mildew, but you need a flat surface to steam against.

I have now found that putting your shower curtain into the washing machine with both bleach and washing powder in the drawer works a treat. My shower curtain came out sparkling white (was previously stained orange from shampoo residue). Give it a go!

Take the dry shower curtain, drape it over the side of the tub. Scrub the part of the curtain that is inside the tub with a brush and vinegar. Move the curtain up and into tub as more is scrubbed. The entire curtain will be in tub after finished. Rinse.

For vinyl shower curtains, remove from hooks and wash in the washing machine. Place in dryer on low heat for 3-6 minutes (or as needed). Hang to finish drying if desired.

Fill the washer with hot water and 1 cup of bleach. Add the shower curtain and two bath towels. Run a regular cycle. When the rinse cycle begins, add 1 cup of vinegar.

Wash the shower curtain in washing machine with towels. The towels will help to agitate the shower curtain. Then hang to dry.

Removing and replacing the liner is a chore. While showering, sprinkle a bit of cleanser on a scrub pad. Rub lightly over grimy spots of liner. Poof - easily removed!

Use a spray bottle to spray the curtain with 1 part bleach to 10 parts water after every shower or every day. Also, you can soak the curtain in the washing machine with the bleach & water mixture for an hour, then wash normally.

Put some small towels in the washer along with your shower curtain and it helps scrub it.

Use a mix of water with 1/4 cup of Clorox in an empty bottle of Windex. Spray the liner of your curtain; leave it for 10 min. Rinse with warm water. Make sure to have good air circulation when using Clorox. More than one open window is recommended.

I run hot water in my tub, add bleach (don't forget to open a window), take down the shower curtain and just lay it in the tub. Run enough water to cover and let it soak for an hour or two. Drain and hang it back up!\t

Remove your shower curtain from the rod. Set the washing machine temperature to hot wash, cold rinse. Fill washing machine half way and add 1/2 cup of laundry detergent and 1 cup of household bleach. Place shower curtain in machine and sit back and relax

Throw it into the washer with hot water and some soap and bleach. Watch when you pull it out as it may have trapped water in it.

Simply remove the shower curtain and liner, place them in the washing machine with a towel and detergent and run full cycle. Hang to dry.

The machine is the easiest way. Use a rinse cycle with 1/4 cup of vinegar or use it in a Downy ball to get rid of suds (this is great for towels in same load too).

First, take the curtain off the hooks. Throw it in the washing machine. Remove it from the washer, and throw it in the dryer. It is best not to dry a full cycle. The curtain will be a little bit soft, but it will return to it's normal texture when it cools. Hang the curtain up immediately.

I clean my plastic shower curtain with orange oil. I just squirt some on the shower curtain & wipe it with a paper towel... it works great on glass shower doors & tile too!

My washing machine chewed up a strong vinyl curtain, even on a delicate cycle. Too much twisting is involved, I think. I strongly recommend hand washing.
