Whenerver I do dishes, before i start i put bowl of water in the microwave for about 5 minutes. when I'm done with the dishes, wiping down counters and appliances I take the bowl out and wash it. Then I just wipe out the microwave. it comes out nice and shiny and the water has cooled enough for me to handle.

I like to cook a wet dishcloth on high for 1 minute, then let it sit with the door closed for 3-4 minutes to cool off. This will soften baked on food, making it easy to wipe off, and also disinfects the dishcloth at the same time. Be sure to clean the area around the door especially well so that the door seals properly.

The steam will soften any baked on food, making it easy to clean, and also disinfects the dish cloth at the same time. Make sure to clean any food away from the areas where the door closes to allow the door to seal properly.

Jane1009-Microwave one cup of water and 1/4 cup lemon juice or the juice from one lemon and your microwave will smell great! It is also a bad idea to scrap a microwave with a dull knife or other object that could scratch the surface because this can damage the microwave.

With a large household we have learned an easy way to clean our microwave is after removing the food and crumbs to put a hot soapy cloth in the microwave on any stubborn areas, let it sit for a while (while wiping the counters and tables clean). When you return the stubborn area will be easier to wipe away.
