you have to take the bracket off. that allows the mulcher door to close more than it would if the body of the mower were in place. put the pin in and the spring prongs in their places and then you can lift the door and re-mount the whole assembly

i have a power propelled craftsman rotarty lawn mower. I need to know how to fix: the mulcher door pin and spring assembly fell off, and I don't know how to get the spring back on, do I need to take the bracket off and assemble all at the same time?? Please help! Linda
