on 10/30/2009 Hot water pressure washing is sometimes the only way to get the stains out. Keep the pressure low and don't get too close.

on 3/15/2009 I have initially tried using "conventional deck washes containing bleach (sodium hypochlorite)and detergent" for cleaning my 5 year old Trex deck of mold stains from the Home Depot and other hardware stores. They did not work, caused black rust stains around my stainless steel screws and gave me a terrible headache due to breathing the fumes. I eventually became very upset and called Trex. They recommend a product called Corte Clean. I gave this product a try and was quite surprised at how well it works. It thoroughly cleaned my deck of the mold stains while not having a terrible chemical smell. It even removed the rust stains caused by the bleach and the grease and oil where my barbecue sits. Its eco-friendly too! I wish I hadnt wasted so many weekends and so much money using products that dont work. Hopefully my posting this will save others from the same hassle and expense I went t

on 8/18/2008 I had some tough grease stains after moving my BBQ back onto the deck. Nothing worked. So I called the 1-800-BUY-TREX hotline - they suggested BEAR 990 from Home Depot, which is a non-petroleum concrete cleaner. I will let you know if that works ... or not. We'll see.

on 8/3/2008 We have a Trex deck with a white trex railing that constantly gets bird droppings on it, that I am unable to get clean. I have tried many different cleaners including Soft Scrub with bleach and a scrubber sponge. It will lighted the stains but they still have a coffee colored stain at each of the spots (which are alot).

Any suggestions?

on 1/14/2008 I should add that you should never use an indoor vacuum to clean up liquids, large objects (rocks or sticks) or anything sharp. I only use it after I mop to clean up the residual dog fur and small dirt or dust particles that are left behind. Also, make sure to clean your Dyson's filters regularly!

on 1/14/2008 I've tried scrubbing my Trex deck with a stiff deck brush with hot, sudsy water. It would take forever and still not get out a lot of the dog fur and small dirt particles. Finally, one day, out of sheer frustration I tried vacuuming with my Dyson. I KNOW it sounds crazy, but it worked! I'm sure Dyson wouldn't recommend their vacuum for cleaning outdoor decks, but if you have an old vacuum cleaner lying around, give it a try. I think someone should invent an outdoor vacuum cleaner - like a ShopVac for cleaning just this type of surface!

on 6/11/2007 I have used a product called "Corte Clean" because it is environmentally friendly.

It cleaned my Trex deck extremely well, especially of black spots which I think was mold that I could not get out with other products that contained Chlorine Bleach on their web site. When I did use the Chlorine Bleach based products, the black spots came back with in weeks in to a greater degree.

I highly recommend Corte Clean. It did not stink like all the Chlorine Bleach products or kill all my plants around my deck. It was reasonably priced and not a rip off like many of the other products out their. It even brought back the color of my deck that the chlorine bleach based products faded.

I bought my Trex Deck because of its environmentally friendly reputation. It only makes sense that I clean it with an environmentally friendly product designed to clean it.

Save your self the time and nightmare I went through by using this product.
