Return to article: How to potty train in a week or less
on 6/9/2008 This is abusive and your articles are horrible.
on 2/5/2008 Wet and dry diapers don't hurt, a rash does! It is not safe to leave your child in wet bacteria ridden clothing for the day. This is the worst advice I've ever read. If your child is a stubborn "pottier" then take the time out of your life to address whatever issues they're having. Don't torture your child into compliance!
on 8/24/2007 I am not sure how this is abuse. Obviously like the poster said, this for the older child that refuses to potty train. They are able to change their own clothes but know that there are consequences for their actions. How is that entitled abuse? Funny how they have the wet and dry diapers now, but that's not concerned abuse- now is it?
on 8/2/2007 i hope no new mom is taking this horrible advise! leave the child in wet clothes, confined to the kitchen? what next? deny fluids and food until he gets the message?if your child is ready for the potty, a week of patient, consistant training ,praise and love will do the trick. don't have a week? ask grandma for help, or apply for a few days off. don't ever treat your child like an animal!!
on 1/23/2007 ...and they have to change their own clothes, or else stay in their wet clothes, in the kitchen, for the rest of the day?? I can't believe what I'm reading. That is abuse!
on 1/23/2007 This is an unkind, abusive way to potty-train. Your poor child was probably totally confused and hurt that you would "jail" him/her for doing something that is very natural (urinating). Threatening and punishing should not be part of potty training. This is horrible.
