on 3/25/2008 Just a note: Some people don't like evites. If they already have evite accounts, it's OK; but if they don't, you've just provided some fairly detailed personal information about your friends to Ticketmaster (which owns evite) and its business partners and subsidiaries. Evite sends web bugs along with the invitations, and they do spam people unless they explicitly sign up for an account and use the opt out feature. In fact, some people have reported that they spam you even if you do opt out.

In general, it's not a good idea to give your friends' personal information to third parties--especially companies known for aggressive marketing tactics--without their prior consent.
