on 3/26/2007 If Pcahuna has any animals, they should be removed from his/her home immediately. This is abuse!

on 3/2/2007 pcahuna's advice is cruel and will only teach your dog to be scared of you. rubbing a dog's face in its feces is not appropriate for house-training, nor any other kind of training. besides, who on earth wants to save poop???

on 8/11/2006 Take a wooden spoon or spatula, smack it against a hard surface and give a sharp NO! This helps not only against biting, but everything else that you don't want them to do as well.

on 8/8/2006 If your puppy continues biting, get a newspaper and bang it (not too hard) on a table or something nearby, the noise will put the puppy in a submissive state and he will learn that they need to calm down and that with humans, biting is not play. If this doesn't work, snap your fingers and say "shh...no" or "off" when you think he is getting ready to bite. Note- chew toys are good training tools.

on 8/7/2006 If your puppy bites you, grab his mouth and say no, but don't hold it too long. If that doesn't work, try to get a little chew bone and calm your dog down.

on 3/23/2006 Every time your dog bites say "NO BITE" and spray a couple drops of lemon juice in his mouth. Eventually the dog will see it coming and run away from you or not bite. Works great for kids because all they have to do is hold the lemon and the dog won't bite them.

on 1/30/2006 Our veterinarian says when a puppy bites to gently grab it's lower jaw with your hand in the pup's mouth and say no firmly. They can't bite and they don't like this.

on 11/22/2005 Get a bottle of water and spray your puppy with it whenever he bites. Don't spray it right in his face, but close to him. After a couple of times of doing this, most dogs will stop biting when they see the bottle about to be sprayed. Do this until your dog stops biting all together.

on 11/22/2005 If you do not run away from the dog, he/she will not bite. But if you are chasing the dog, he/she will think you are playing and she/he will bite you.

on 12/22/2005 When your puppy tries to bite you say "No!" and immediately place your hand around their mouth like a muzzle. Put your face up to theirs and say "No biting."

on 11/22/2005 Often he is just teething. If he chooses you as his chew toy of choice, get him something else immediately. A flavored rope toy works best for me!

on 11/22/2005 Praise your puppy as often as you can for doing the right things. It will help him learn what behavior you want!

on 11/22/2005 When your puppy bites, immediately say "no" and gently hold its mouth shut. Encircle its mouth with one hand around the muzzle. But again do this gently to symbolize that it should keep its mouth shut rather than force it painfully.

on 11/22/2005 Our first reaction to a puppy's jumping on us is "down." But dog trainers use "down" to mean "lie down." So try to train everyone to say "off" to the puppy when she jumps up or gets too close, as if she's about to bite.
