on 1/15/2008 If you use a penny made before 1969, they are copper. Only pennies after this date have a zinc core.

on 1/15/2008 Whatever source of power you use, to extend the life of the power source, once you see the power running out, replacing the nails with brand new ones will give you full power again (as long as there's moisture left in the lemons, potatoes, etc).
