on 11/22/2005 Wash your hair once a week using shampoo and a rinse. Leave the rinse on for about 2 to 3 minutes, then rinse it out. Afterward, towel dry your hair a little, then part the hair into sections and put rollers in your hair. Either let your hair dry naturally (takes longer), or use a blow dryer. Once you're done, your hair will look shiny, and you will have lasting curls that straighten as you comb your hair (don't use a brush). Under no circumstance apply water to your hair again, it will frizz up. If it rains, your hair might frizz, use rollers to keep it in shape. To maintain curl or wave, part your hair in sections (3 sections in the middle, 3 on the left side of your head and 3 on the right side of your head) and roll each part and pin. After taking it down, your hair will look glamorous. You can sleep with this better than sleeping with rollers. Remember, only wash your hair once a week.

on 11/22/2005 I used to have very frizzy dry hair; which was so tangled it didn't even look like I had curls! I started using many different products, but the one I have stayed with is Pantene Hydrating Curls Shampoo and Conditioner. I Shampoo my hair only once a week, to keep my natural oils in my hair, and to help stop frizz. But, I condition my hair every day. In the morning I rinse my hair in the shower then I apply a very small amount of conditioner to my hair and brush it through with my fingers to remove any tangles. Then I apply a large amount, which I only lightly rinse out. When out of the shower, I towel dry it and add Vo5 Gel through the lengths. It works great for me, and people always complement me on my hair!

on 11/22/2005 If you straighten your hair the night before it gives you a more natural look - even if you decide to straighten it the next day. Wet to straight hair straighteners are great, you don't have to blow dry your hair!

on 11/22/2005 When I shower, I usually shampoo with a good shampoo made for curls, and then apply conditioner from the nape of my neck down (applying it on the scalp will weigh hair down and make it greasy looking). I only condition every other day. When I step out of the shower, I take an absorbent towel and scrunch the water out of my hair, then apply some Beyond the Zone Noodlehead Curl Maker Creme. It's a knockoff of Aveda Be Curly and can be found at Sally's Salon. It's inexpensive and really works. If not Noodlehead, use some other curl product. Tuck all of your hair in a shower cap, scrunching it all in there. It's not so attractive, but it's not time consuming at all. I get ready for work and then take off the shower cap, scrunch quickly one more time, and off I go! The shower cap forms all my curls perfectly and Noodlehead saves me time, money, and my hair!

on 11/22/2005 I use Pantene (the new one with amino protiens). To me it works better than the original Pantene. The best formula is Full and Thick w/ amino protiens. It does not volumize your hair it leaves it soft and totally frizz free and very light not weighed down. Don't try the hydrating curls it does nothing. And try your best to not use any products after not using any for a while you will start to see an improvment and you will realize that you don't need them. It's best to go natural. I used so many different products after a while I stopped and my hair looked horrible, real frizzy but after a week or so your hair (naturally) starts looking great and better from then on.

on 11/22/2005 I am a perfectionist facing every walk of life. I am no different when it comes to my hair. Naturally, my hair is kind of frizzy and a bit wavy, if I were to just let it air dry it would be a big poof of frizz and occasional waves. For the past 5 years, I've denied my curls and stuck with straightening my hair everyday. If you're going to straighten your curls here are a few things to keep in mind:

-Invest in a quality flat iron (such as a ceramic or jade iron). They are quite costly, however the outcome is worth it. Cheap irons (some claim to be ceramic but really are not) will tend to pull at your hair and really fry your ends.
-Use a straightening product to really enhance the straightness. I find that Beverly Hills Crazy Straight works wonders. After using it, my coarse hair is really soft and sleek.
-Don't blow dry your hair right away, let it air dry for awhile and then blow dry it. I find that this helps in keeping your hair soft.
-Finish with a shine serum such as TEX Shine Spray. It gives your hair a nice, glossy look.

If you're making the transition from always wearing your hair straight to going back to your curls (like I did just recently), your hair will likely be somewhat dried out and thirsty. Deep condition (which you should do anyways with dry hair) and give your hair a few days to get moisturized. Do not wash your hair everyday. Use conditioner but not shampoo, which you should use (at most) every other day. I had the hardest time doing this, but it really helps keep your dry hair nourished. When I style my hair curly, I have found one product that works amazing wonders with my hair. TEX Control Gel is simply amazing. I take a shower, comb my hair out as soon as I turn the water on, turn my head upside down and scrunch my hair. Then, after my hair is somewhat scrunched, I start scrunching in some of this gel. I have to use a lot of gel because my hair literally drinks it up. Since my hair is really thick, it takes a really long time to dry. If you don't have time to let it air dry on its own (which is best for the hair) lightly scrunch hair with a towel. Don't do this excessively, though. Your hair really doesn't like this, but in my opinion it's better than a diffuser.

If you happen to live in an area where it is humid out, and if you want your curls to be more enhanced, sit outside while your hair dries. Since my hair isn't extremely curly naturally, I find that the humidity gives it some life. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair after I do this, that I swear by it. I hope I helped a bit!

on 11/22/2005 I've found that shampooing my hair every other time I shower, and using just conditioner in between, helps to control the frizz unbelievably well. I would also suggest not to use gel or mousse, since it doesn't always control your hair (if you have very curly hair). It can make your look sort of funny and give you a yield sign shape. Instead, invest in products such as Nexus Versa-styler Artistic Styling Lotion, and apply as needed.

on 11/22/2005 1. Take a shower every other day. Your hair needs natural oils to keep your hair from frizzing.
2. For a wet, natural look: While your hair is wet, use light mousses and gels to keep your hair looking healthy and well put together. If you overdo the gel or mousse, your hair will look greasy and oily.
3.Do not blow dry your hair! Blow drying will turn your hair into a huge mess, and ruin your beautiful curls.
4. Care for your hair. Do not brush it too much, that will give you split-ends.

on 11/22/2005 Umberto Gianni's scrunching jelly is amazing! Simply towel dry your hair after washing, put the jelly in your hair from the roots to the ends. The jelly gives a natural, shiny look to your hair. If you use a lot of styling products, be sure to shampoo your hair.

on 11/22/2005 My hair is really poofy because I am bi-racial. Usually, what I do to prevent my hair being nothing more than a ball sitting on my head is:

1. Wash my hair.

2. Use conditioner for damaged and dry or frizzy hair.

3. Comb my hair while in the shower.

4. After a short while, rinse out the conditioner.

5. Once I am out of the shower, I gently pat my hair dry, and apply Vaseline (petroleum jelly) using long stokes, from my scalp to the ends of my hair.

6. I either leave the Vaseline on my hair, or I run my comb through it once more.

I only shampoo once every other day. On off days, I only use conditioner. My hair still gets puffy, but it looks much better than it used to, and it's soft.

on 11/22/2005 Before you do something with your hair in the morning, straighten it with a flat iron. Then, do your hair as normal. Your hair won't frizz out, and it's easy!

on 11/22/2005 Wash your hair about every 3 days, because when it's just washed, it poofs out. Don't brush it, fingercomb it in the shower. When it dries, put your hair in a messy bun. When you take it out, it'll be flatter at the top and curly at the bottom. I don't think this works if you have overly curly hair, though. Sleep with it in a messy bun and just run a thin comb through the top to get the frizz out.

on 11/22/2005 Use a good moisturizing shampoo, then apply Neutrogena triple moisture deep conditioner. Leave it on for 2-3 minutes. Get out of the shower and allow your hair to dry slightly, then use Neutrogena leave-in conditioner. Finally, use Garnier curl construct mousse. Create curls with your hands, and finish up with Garnier hair spray. I spent years trying to solve this problem, and this finally did it for me.

on 11/22/2005 Just a week ago, I had the most unbearable curls. My mom got me some deep conditioner - Redken Matrix Curl Life and Redken Curl Enhancer. They work wonders for my curls. They are bouncier and easier to tame. Before you go to sleep, have a shower and get the tangles out. Get a towel and pick your hair up from the bottom. Squeeze the hair out so that you are scrunching your curls and getting the droplets out. Put some deep conditioner in your hair for a while. Read a book and keep a towel around your shoulders. Get a shower cap, put it on, and make it tighter (so that it will stay on for at least some of the night). Go to sleep, and when you wake up, wash it out. I do it once a week and it is better than ever. I've got celebrity hair. Also, put olive or almond oil in your hair. It's very good!
