on 3/17/2006 Every week, before having a bath or a shower, mix an egg yolk with olive oil or sesame oil and apply to the hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes, and no more, to bring life back to frizzy hair.

on 3/15/2006 When I go to bed I brush my hair and then put it in a high pony tail by bending over and gathering it together. I put it up loosely then I gently twist it into a lose bun. I take a scrunchy (the less elastic is probably better) and wrap it around gently. Then my hair is nice and smooth in the morning.

on 6/11/2007 I have shoulder length corkscrew natural curls. After reading Curly Girl by Lorraine Massey I took her advice and never use shampoo of any kind. I have not had shampoo on my hair in over 2 years. Look at the ingredients on your favorite bottle of conditioner. You'll find various surfactants listed and they are quite enough to clean most types of curly heads. You don't need the detergents (and sudsing agents that give you bubbles) on your precious curls that shampoo dumps there. I promise, your hair will be clean and fresh. Wash your hair with conditioner only, every day. Rinse well. When you eventually get a product buildup and want a little more, wash with a mixture of 2 tablespoons baking soda and a small soda bottle full of water. Add some essential oil to the baking soda mix for fun. This idea came from the curly girl book. If you have curls - get this book. It will change your approach to your hair once and for all. My hair has never been healthier or prettier and I just turned 45. My curls are making me so happy that I'm growing them long again. Kick the shampoo habit and stop fighting your hair every day.

on 2/21/2006 I find the best way to style my hair (I have extremely tight, frizzy curls) is to condition every morning, then leave to dry slightly in a towel. Then I spray my hair with a conditioning spray and comb through, de-tangling all knots. Then I use Frizz-Ease serum, and distribute it evenly through all of my hair. Finally, I use curl loosening gel, also frizz-ease, to make my curls looser and leave to dry naturally. It's quick and easy, and perfect for everyday wear!

on 2/14/2006 Comb a generous amount of warm olive oil through your hair, and shampoo out in the morning.

on 2/1/2006 Use Pantene Hydrating curls shampoo and conditioner (or a shampoo and conditioner that suits your hair best). After applying conditioner in the shower, use a comb through your hair, but don't completely wash the conditioner out, as curly hair loves to be moisturized! Do not towel dry your hair, wrap it up in a towel. When hair is damp, use Pantene curl booster mousse (or a mousse that suits you) and scrunch it throughout your hair. Also apply it to the roots. Remember not to use too much mousse, or your hair will become stiff and dry-like, if this does happen then just scrunch your hair when it is dry.

on 2/1/2006 Olive oil works wonders with my hair. Immediately after washing your hair, apply about 8-10 tablespoons of olive oil into your hair and your hair will have a lovely sheen to it.

on 2/1/2006 If you're trying to find a system of hair products to turn your birds nest into the beautiful curls you know you have, then I suggest the John Frieda Frizz-Ease collection. I've tried many other things and this has been my golden ticket for years. Start with the Frizz-Ease serum and follow up with the Dream Curl spray. I also recommend the Daily Nourishment spray to keep your hair healthy. Be sure to style your hair right after you shower and never brush or towel-dry. And even better, these products can be found at most drugstores! Trust someone from the south where the humidity is never-ending, good luck!

on 1/31/2006 I braid my hair in 6 sections every night and wear a satin cap to bed. Then in the morning, I un-tie my braids, and apply a hair moisturizer, like Pink Oil Moisturizer or Care Free Curls Moisturizer.

on 1/30/2006 I have very thick, curly hair and the best thing I have ever tried is Zero Frizz (or John Frieda's Hair Serum). First, before you get out of the shower, squeeze as much water out of your hair as you can, then put about a quarter-size dollop in the palm of your hand, rub both hands together then careful rake it through your hair. Next wrap your head in a towel. About 15-30 minutes later, take off the towel and finger toss the hair and let it air dry. You will love how your curls look and respond. I wash my hair every 3-5 days.

on 1/27/2006 To tame my frizzy, curly hair I use the Aussie products. They don't weigh my hair down, which is good because I have really thick hair. Plus their shampoo quenches my dry hair.

on 1/25/2006 Take a shower at night. After you take a shower, do your hair in a tight braid. Go to sleep and in the morning you smooth any type of hair serum over your head and braid. Then spray hairspray on your hands, rub them together, and smooth
over your head and braid. Let the hairspray dry and undo the braid. And there you go; beautiful and frizz-free curls.

on 1/23/2006 At night, wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, I use Aussie Moist 2 in 1. Then do your hair in a tight braid and secure it with an elastic. Go to sleep, and in the morning when you wake up, smooth on any type of serum or olive oil (works just as good) on the top of your head and the braid. Then you spray hair spray on your hand, rub them together, and then smooth it over the head and braid. Let it dry and there you go, curls that even you can't resist.

on 1/23/2006 Put anti frizz serum (preferably Citre Shine by Fusion) on your hair while it is dripping wet. When you come out of the shower, don't even let the towel touch your hair. Work the serum through your hair and let it dry naturally. Your natural curls will look soft and bouncy and frizz-free.

on 1/16/2006 If you don't want an afro, but still want to be able to untangle your hair - comb it before you shower. Or better yet, you can do it while you have conditioner in your hair. This way, you won't have to worry about your hair being tangled after you shower and you won't have to brush it and get an afro.
