on 9/29/2007 I got my belly button pierced in may and up until now (September) it has been fine no problems what so ever, now however i have developed an infection, it hurts so bad and is very red and sore. Does anyone have any tips to clear the infection without going to the doctor. I wash it with sea salt solution and am currentely also taking zinc supplements. Any thing else i could try.

on 8/6/2007 ums. i have a question.
Alot of people say it doesn't hurt to get a belly button pierce. But i've heard that you have to have some meat on you for it to not hurt. So what if someone is sorta skinny. will it still hurt?
please reply. thanks.

on 4/6/2007 I had my belly pierced a few weeks ago and it did not hurt at all. I am not just saying that, but it did not hurt. My nose hurt a lot more then this. Just make sure that you go somewhere that is licensed by the state. Make sure they use sterilized needles, or ones that have gone through an autoclave. Taking care of it is easy if you do it in the morning after any workout and at night. It's quick and painless. After it is healed completely you can change out the jewelery.

on 2/2/2007 I had my belly button pierced a week ago and it didn't hurt at all! I'm not lying because I really expected it to. Getting my ears pierced honestly hurt more! He said I would feel pressure on my stomach and I did but no pain. I think it really does depend on the person though. A few minutes afterwards I fianted because I have low blood pressure and dont' like needles. The guy who did it was really nice and caught me (my friend told me afterwards) and gave me some juice to drink. He said that it is really common that people faint afterwards. Other than that it was fine. If you feel dizy just ask the person there to lie down. I am very happy with my piercing and cannot wait to change the bar to a dangly one! Good luck everyone!!

on 1/11/2007 No kidding. As a piercer, I can tell you that the needles we used are either tri or quad beveled-in other words, terrifically sharp in order to minimize trauma to the tissue surrounding the piercing. No matter how sharp your best sewing needle is, it's not sharp enough (believe me, I'm a fashion major). If you're hell bent on saving money piercing something yourself-consider how ridiculous the piercing will look when it turns out crooked or gets infected and leaves you with disgusting scars and discoloration. So please, tempting though it may be to pierce yourself or let your friends do it for you, unless they've trained to pierce, they shouldn't be piercing. And neither should you.

on 1/6/2007 DO NOT TRY TO PIERCE IT BY YOURSELF - I'm 13 and I want my belly button pierced badly. I tried doing it by myself with a sterilized needle...it went through the top part but when it got to the bottom, no matter how much pressure I put on it, it didn't come out and hurt alot. It left a scar that lasted for about 3 months. Please get it done at a professional piercing place to avoid infection!
