Another option is to get interchangeable or designer bra straps. I found this place online www.gibsigirl.com that has some really cute ones that are very comfortable and inexpensive. I have the beaded ones that look as though they are twisted and they are flexible and do not slip off the shoulders. I get complements and I can wear whatever I want. I simply love it and it's a must have for the summer. Check it out....

There is a new product I came across. It is called a Strap Tamer, Bra Strap Concealer. It is a pin with a clip. You attach the pin to the inside shoulder seam of a sleeveless shirt and slip your bra strap into the clip. When you take your shirt off, you can simply leave the Strap Tamer pinned in place, even while laundered. It is there ready for the next time you wear that top.

There is a new bra now available that works perfectly with many summer tops. It is called the BustFree Bra and consists of a pair of bra cups that cling to and are held in place by your clothing. No adhesive required. As long as your summer top is reasonably form fitting the cups work extremely well and are very soft but still secure. As there are no straps and no back they are very comfortable. They can also be worn with swimsuits. They are also excellent for many other types of clothing from casual and exercise wear to formal wear.

If you are stuck with a sleeveless top that shows the inside shoulder and you can't wear a racer bra, wear flesh-colored thin bra straps. These thin straps are more susceptible to slipping, but they are much less noticeable. If they fall down your arm, it is very easy to pull them back up without it being obvious what you are doing. It will just look like you are stroking your arm.
If you wear strappy tops with thin straps, it is even harder to control bra strap slippage. Thin bra straps can be hidden, but they are hard to keep on the shoulder when loose. You can add nice decoration badges to your top that can be used to bind the bra strap and top together, to stop the bra strap from falling down.
What doesn't work well is the following:
Really thick straps - although they tend to have more contact with the skin and hold up better, they are much harder to hide and easier to notice.
Tightening the straps - not only is it uncomfortable, it also doesn't always work. My sister used to do this, and her straps would still slowly work their way out onto her shoulder. When they fell down, she had to really stretch them to get them back on her shoulder (bringing attention to what she was doing, because it took longer).
Matching strap color to top color - not good if you are wearing a dark red top on a light coloured skin (for example). A dangling red bra strap (even if thin) will stand out a mile away and immediately bring attention. Again, my sister has tried this, but every time her bra strap let her down and slipped away from her top, it wasn't worth the gamble.
Sleeveless tops:
The solution here is normally a sleeveless bra, but that isn't an option for all women. Don't wear see-through straps. They cause sweat and shine. A better solution is thin straps that can be made to look like straps from the top and not be seen from a long way off.
What makes straps fall down?
High in polyester and low in elastine is a bad combination for a bra. Usually, cheaply-made bras are like this. They have little stretch, so it's usually a choice between making it too tight or risking a "slipping nightmare."
Sometimes, women buy a bra, fall in love with it, and start wearing it excessively even after it is worn out. They get used to sitting there tugging at their bra strap every few minutes and thinking others don't know what they are doing. This is okay, but if you are wearing a sleeveless top, things won't always work out. It only takes a moment for it to pop out and be down your arm.
If the cup size is too small, it can cause straps to stretch and eventually slip. When a cup size is too big, the top of the cup won't give the strap any tightness, and it will cause slippage problems from day 1.
Some women will simply have the wrong build of body for certain bras. If you have narrow shoulders and you are short, you will be vulnerable to the problem. You should avoid demi type bras which have straps set wider.
I hope these tips are found useful for the problem of falling bra straps.
